That true in alot of cases, but Jay made some epic music while he already had everything.Even before he did music he wasn't no broke dude, his family struggled when he was a kid but when he was of age he always money.
Hmm no… cause he still working.. you fools jump to conclusions so fast . No discernment .. mind changes over time.. but since most ppl stay stuck can’t relate zzz
@@itsTheTruthTellerlol these are the type of people that don't like 4:44, dude pluralized each hit submit and went back to listening to drill music and playing 2k.
Jay was my favorite rapper. Once he stopped I gave up on rap because I understood the negativity in it's message as a whole. When sex, money, cars, jewelry, and killing is the only thing artist talk about, at some point you have to realize there's an agenda behind it.
@@JuliusTurner-hm6ff Good you said that you're a fan of Jay Z, not a fan of Hip-hop. Because there are several other Rappers out there who are just as conscious, if not more. But you choose to focus on the negatives to suit your biased narrative.
@@frankiegunnz8066 space isn't finite so that was dope to me. The phrase defined him as an "explorer" and yes the vulnerability he expressed should help others find comfort stepping in those areas.
Today's rap is for today's generation ;P 18 year olds aren't making music for people that are 40+. They are making music for people their own age. Jay Z is making people for his own generation.
@christopher399 💯 I'm in my late 50s, same as Jay. Rap started in my generation & trust my parents were like wth? lol We shouldn't be so critical to the current "sound".
@@Reneedaboss That's right! It might sound trash to you, but the music wasn't made for you. Buuuut if you like 90's and early 2000's hip hop, I believe there are a lot of artists you might enjoy today. The most obvious is Kendrick Lamar (duh) haha 😂 But if you see some 18 year old with a new mixtape out here, just keep in mind that he isn't trying to make music for his dad and his friends 😆 He's trying to make music for himself and HIS friends, who are all a bunch of teenagers.
I remember I was 16 when 4:44 dropped and could never understand it, but i decided to listen to it again maybe 3 months ago and I must say, that is a MATURE album and I understand it a lot now
So ur 23 now…that’s all I heard u say…😂 I’m not a Jay fan just breezing through comments and videos trying to figure out why Jay left Sean combs out to fend for hisself
Too many parties with Puffy leaved him empty in his soul. He has nothing more to tell about real life and now that he has all he can think about, he realized he has nothing . Another sad story
when’s you’ve done it all and you’ve done what you love doing enough, you get exhausted some way at some point, and would probably be seeking new excitement or looking for new angles to approach it that would still make sense. I think it’s the same with anything in life
It's hard to take him seriously after the whole mess with Didd. Ppl within the industry n others are saying that he n his wife allegedly has been a part of Daddy's group causing harm, abusing the certain underage kids along their way getting to where they're at presently. They all need to be accountable for their evil actions.
@nurseasb I miss the anticipation of a new album from him. When he speaks and you really listen to him and not just hearing what he says for me its always transformational.

No, Nas actually like to rap whether it feeds him or not. Hov won't do it unless the business aspect makes sense. Both are legendary because each time they do decide to work they work best.
🤦♂️ y'all just have to bring up nas whenever jay's name is uttered. it's like people bringing up kendrick out of nowhere when talking about j. cole. stfu.
This has been Kendricks and Coles approach from day one, meanwhile Drake releases everything he records with no direction and he wanna put hisself in the same space as them. Hilarious
It means it has to have alotof mainstream appeal and be capable of selling to the masses not just something for the streets he bigger than that now it want feed him enough likenhe needs the sales smh that's wut happens when you chased hits an stopped networking with the other hip hop artist not big like ye and Dre them he stopped collaboration with alot of NY mcs where's the features from NYC rappers like how Nas and Jada and all the them got that's not on a chart topping artist album just think bout that for a second
You have to admit to for many music is a way to express themselves... and also to "feed" themselves...Everybody wants to be the best... but, there is also the business side of ventures that become the goal... not necessarily the forefront...
Jay Z has aged so gracefully. He really looks good and he has never said one bar that didn’t have “meaning,” to it. If he never makes another song he has contributed enough to this world. I am so grateful!
Marcy Me. In 2017, I went to the 4:44 concert and listened to the album but somehow this song got past me. When I played this song again in 2021 it was like my heart went to my stomach. This song was an unadulterated CLASSIC! I played that song out and dissected every word for what it meant. Marcy Me brought back moments in my childhood that I’d locked away forever. Completely Nostalgic. I need for music like this.
Not only the song.the video with the kid running to the store is brilliant and very powerful. All the videos that were made for 4:44 should be watched..they are so deep in meaning to the song they represent.
Agreed. No I.D's beat is as dope as the lyrics. It's perfect and conveys a feeling of growing up in NY, in that era, even if you never did. The first time I heard it I felt like I was in front of a bodega somewhere in NY in the late 80's-early 90s., and I am from KY.
This is not only a man that has acquired wisdom, but a man that was particularly selective with the people who he’s acquired it from. It’s always a pleasure to hear what he has to say, keep growing HOV and keep building.
Why do people have to get weird when they get money? Just bcuz you have a “big voice” doesn’t mean you have to constantly be “saying something”, it doesn’t have to be bigger or mean more.
To be honest jay z don’t even have to rap anymore he already prove that in his younger days I mean jay z life changed and den on top of that it’s a new generation he not trying to rap or fill in this new generation of rappers now
Translation: The God Nas put out 6 insanely incredible albums in less than 3 years. I can’t keep that pace. I am hot garbage now, have you heard my weak features? I’m doing this interview cause the hip hop community flaming me cause Nas is absolutely crushing it. End of translation.
I haven't heard anyone bumping none of Naz projects he put out stop it, jay will put out 1 album that will out sell all 6 of naz albums that's the difference between the 2 , Naz needs 6 albums to compete with 1 album jay will put out in the same amount of time.
@@CharlesWilkinson-yc3dmof course a Nas hater wouldn’t hear anybody around him bumping nas meanwhile all Nas last records has hit millions of spins on each album and all the songs on just one platform yet nobody is playing his muzik 😂
Mr. Carter, gave us his life 4 free, since I was a teenager! 😎💯 It's a serious task not to repeat yourself in your word play! 🤔 What more is left to be said to our society? "THE GOAT!" "💯😎"E"
That man has never changed his message since day one.. we will never get a realer example of “ like I told you sell drugs?, no hov did that , so hopefully you won’t have to go through that “!!….. they ain’t hear that though.
Its amazing to hear this coming from a guy who once told Nas in their younger days “what you tryna kick knowledge?” …now at a later age he’s doing the type of message Nas did 30 years ago and still today.
