When the Grey album was released I tried to download it but kept getting fake copies from D list rappers on Limewire. I went on eBay and found a solid seller and bought a CD for 10 bucks. Danger Mouse never remixed Threat on his Grey album but the seller's CD had the entire Grey album with this version of Threat included. It worked perfectly with the rest of the album so I always assumed it was a lost Danger Mouse track but this is the Alan Parsons project mixed with Jay -Z that was included with my CD. Even though Kno mixed this track I'm glad the seller added it to the Grey album he sent me. This became one of my favorite songs ever.
Everything you said is correct. I too originally had a copy of The Grey Album burned from a friend he got off the internet…ahhh LimeWire/Kazaa/WinMX days! 🤦♂️, which contained this track. Seems we all got duped by some OP who felt the need to lump this track in with Grey. I now have an actual pressing of The Grey Album (with silver playable side & jewel case/artwork) I bought for…not cheap, at a used record store, and can confirm this track is NOT on it. I got this track (the 2nd time around) from my full copy of Kno’s The White Albulum I found & downloaded long ago from…I can’t even remember.
Yoooooooo. I went back to listen to The Grey Album online and this is not on the album. Little did I know back in 2004 when I downloaded The Grey Album off of Limewire/Frostwire/Bearshare/Kazaa/Napster this song was snuck in as a, "13th song" among downloaders. I didn't know of Alan Parsons Project by name(I knew about Sirius thanks to the Chicago Bulls) nor did I know enough of The Beatles to discern that this was NOT them. This song is a golden mashup if I ever heard one.
That’s a common misconception thanks to the LimeWire (et al.) days. I too originally had a copy of The Grey Album burned from a friend he got off the internet, which contained this track. Seems we all got duped by some fool who felt the need to lump this track in with Grey. After downloading another copy of The Grey Album which did not have this track, that led me to doing my own research years back, from which I learned of this Kno Vs. HOV - The White Albulum. I now have an actual pressing of Danger Mouse - The Grey Album (with silver playable side & jewel case/artwork) I bought for…not cheap, at a used record store, and can assure you this track is NOT on it.
