Jay Z really saved Nas' career by dissing him...if he hadn't Nas would've probably ended like other lyrical artists like Krs One, Rakim, and others...he would've just fell out of the scene...if Jay Z would've dissed any lyrical artist it would've probably saved their career

CAN I SMELL YOUR BUTT? All his new music is sloopy. All over the place. Mix and match verses over a nice beat. He doesnt even make any sense anymore. But I do like his music from 1996 to about 2004. In terms of skill Nas is the better rapper, better word play.
I personally think Nas is a better MC that Jay, Illmatic is better than anything Jay Z has in his catalog and at that point in time Nas won the battle BUT in the end Jay Z won the war. Nas started cranking out some garbage albums like Nastradamus while Jay transformed himself, putting out the earcandy like Blueprint III while at the same time creating lyrical juggernauts like the Black Album. I always thought Nasir never tried hard enough, he always kept it real but I think Life is Good was the best he could do right now- tank is empty for Esco.....same thing goes for Hov. Time for these guys to step aside and see what the next generation can do for hip hop.
