I don’t know about indian parliament that much. But Jaya ji is wrong here. If she has any problem in calling people with her husband’s name then she should change it in officials papers first. The honorable speaker handled it very gently and he was more humble than her. Anyone can say, she was wrong there phir bhi the gentleman gave her respect by mentioning his own wife's name.

I totally support Ms. Jaya Bachchan. In Maharashtra in most documents like SSC/ HSC certificates and even Aadhar card the government officials automatically write the father’s/husband’s name without the consent of the individual, changing the original name and identity of the person. This practice should be acknowledged and stopped immediately. I have the same view point and hence reactions like Ms. Jaya Bachchan for my name.
when a nation has deeper issues to resolve, is it really imperative to make this correction and create a storm in Parliament? Surely this could be a conversation that could be handled offline. It just takes away from discussing more pertinent issues. How is a country meant to thrive when this is the topic of discussion?!

In 1950 the election commission asked for names of women . They used to give their husbands names. They were disqualified for voting . Today parliament is promoting that irony 😂 .

What did they do here ? Calling her from a name she filled in the form, which was written there as her name , if she didn't like it she could have changed it, but she wanted to make it an issue.

She's known for her husband's name. What's wrong with it? Her initial days in the film industry were quite good (Guddi etc), but the rest of her performances were not that commendable. I don't think Hema Malini will ever mind calling her Hema Dharmendra Malini?? Jaya Bhaduri is a mess all the time.

But I have never heard her name as Jaya Amitabh bachchan. How come it is so written in parliament records. I think she is intentionally instigated..so that she gets engaged in all such useless issues and couldn't raise the issues of actual national concern. We all have seen her to be very vocal against the government.
