One more gift to Indian Music world from the state of Karnataka. Young artist comes from same region as Pt. Bhimsen Joshi and may other top musicians. Absolutely perfect Bilaskhani Todi
Then why did he break the taan at 40:07 ?? Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj ji or even Sangeet Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi would not sing like that . With all due respect to Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi , he is a true worshipper of Music but sir you cannot compare him with such great personalities or Legends of Hindustani Classical Music ....
@@crazyybonesmaddy7234pt jayteerth ji's taans in his prime were faster than even pt bhimsenji's in his prime let alone pt Jasraj Ji's that also without any drop in shruti, only a few classical singers had taans as fast as pt jayteerth ji in their prime, only a few like ustad salamat Ali Khan, ustad Amir khan(while using his merukhand taan in his young days, and ustad bade Ghulam Ali khan saab had other genius qualities like gayaki of 4 gharanas combined etc but in terms of speed of taan I would not say he was as fast as those guys) comes to mind, as for a particular taan in a particular performance anyone can be pin pointed to I have listened to ustad Amir Khan stop his taan in a performance as well (depends on gala as well on that day), pt Kumar Gandharva also used to take breaths during his relatively short super fast taans as a consequence used to stop his taans a lot mid way so stopping a taan mid way doesn't imply anything(as for pt Jasraj ji his taans were relatively slower than all the other people I mentioned till now , bhimsenji definitely had this extraordinary quality of taking very long taans but jayteerth ji or salamat Ali Khan saab or even amir khan saab had a little bit faster speed of taans than bhimsenji in his prime) so don't get offended if someone expresses his opinion (which clearly hurt your feelings 😂, pt Ajoy chakrabarty said that not even 1 pandit of our country sang Word "om" like ustad bade Ghulam Ali khan did (while singing his hari om tatsat in his festival recently) and he also said no pandit comes close to genius ustad bade Ghulam Ali khan and that he was the best classical singer ever no other pandit, ustad Comes close so everyone is entitled to their opinion 😀) if you really want to compare them then compare them at their best and then this delusion of yours that jayteerth ji is not in league of Bhimsen ji or Jasraj ji ( if not better) would fade away .
@@apoorv219Ajoy Chakraborty might say whatever he likes …there have been many pandits and ustad who have had fast taans…the recordings available bear testimony to the fact ….the names you mentioned are the popular ones ….that generation itself had many great musical luminaries who were either localised or somehow didn’t get the limelight…Bhimsen Joshi in 40s-60s was a roaring lion…RU-vid has an infinitesimal collection of it which itself is sufficient to predict….the music circles and musicologists of yesteryears have known this….
