We had pop ups throughout my childhood and teenage years. When I married, we bought the latest pop up from my parents and enjoyed it for many years more. They bought a motorized rv. But during my childhood each of us kids had a corner and a job during setup and breakdown with Dad supervising.
His patience and tenacity make it all look so easy! After all that set up work, we'd have to stay at least a couple of weeks! lol I can't imagine doing all this prep work only to stay for a week-end!
This brings back so much memories of when I was younger and in high school back in the 80s, we used to have a pop up we would go camping like every other weekend and I loved it. I really miss going camping. My parents are now in their mid-eighties. When I got married, we actually bought a camper and kept it down in Rockport, Texas Year round and when my son was born were always down there even on vacation. Doing some fishing swimming and when I got divorced After 20 years, I quit going camping and I really miss it even if I have to go by myself. I would sure love to go camping again.
@@tburnsmatheny That is a really good idea, I have to check out our area. I know when we were younger. Or we used to belong to the national campers and hikers association. I wonder if there's still active.
I think this is heavan come on folks what a wonderful way to enjoy life. What are you going to do when you have to live in a cave. This is how you teach kids and each other how to do things and learn how to put things together and build a big firer and be proud of your self at what you have created. 😅 love it.
Thanks alot Bud ! Even though I don't own or intent to own a camping- trailer,I did find it very interresting, and all the details to the installation where thorough.
Hola Tim, buenas tardes. ¡Felicitaciones! Es un vehículo realmente asombroso. Muchas gracias por compartirlo con todos nosotros. Muy buen trabajo. Segui adelante. Gracias Tim.
Thank you for demonstrating the setup. You were very thorough and so patient in explaining everything in detail. My husband and I just bought a 2014 Jayco Series and this is the first time ever owning one. One question, the section where you popped open a part in the back and I think you said you could use a 1/4" hex head battery operated drill, is this to manually pop up the roof of the camper? I'm looking forward to go on our first camping trip soon. Thank you in advance for your reply.
The 1/4 hex drive is in case the roof lift motor fails. You can use a cordless drill to manually raise or lower the unit. Just ensure not to exceed the open and close limits or you could do some damage. Thanks and enjoy your camper!
ny first camper was a popup in 2005 and i loved it touring the Scottish highlands no that i am older i have a flat on wheels still doing the Scottish highlands
This brings back lots of memories. Had one for 9 yrs.sold it when my boys got older .sold it for what I payed for it had lots of fun in it.mine was a starcraft
Nicely done step by step, Is there a cassette for the toilet or a sewer drain by the grey water drain? I would have liked to see that process as well. Thanks !
You have such a THOROUGH introduction; I ALDO had to smile when you added some “.tips”; it. ‘S as though YOU have actually made some errors when first setting this up. THIS “pop-up’s” is well thought out; I ESPECIALLY LIKE THOSE KITCHEN CABINETS…GREAT pop-up; THANK YOU for this intro…👍🏻👍🏻❗️❗️😃
28:14 what a major pain in the rear!! This was the type of stuff that would make my dad mad before we even had a chance to get started! Great job on being calm and patient; I'm not used to that!! 34:56 How are you just blindly sticking your fingers in some of these places? You seem certain there aren't any poisonous spiders in those areas. Scary!
Boy you really have that down to a science you could work for them putting them up it's so complicated for the average person it would not be good for a wife or girlfriend that was accident prone it would tear the whole thing down or active children you would flip out because I can tell you very articulate. But it's nice for you and another person that's careful like you are but not for a while bunch with velcro hinges and all that holding things together thanks for the video.
The travel door that is installed on the caravan is very redundant. and M He could turn and build the staircase Also, the openings can easily be penetrated by snakes, which could be solved with a zipper It could also have a ceiling mounted shelf. Instead of that dancing legs
Interesting ideas. Just keep in mind the ceiling is foam sandwiched with aluminum sheets. I think suspending a shelf from it would not be practical and could exceed the weight rating.
Hi all, HELP!! I'm having a heck of a time finding a video for my 2008 select jay series baja PoP up camper. Can anyone lead me in the right direction??
La casita inteligente es. Pero sinceramente ese montaje es para una larga temporada. Esas bisagras y tipo de anclajes con el tiempo se resiente , pero bueno queda genial
Some trailers are pretty flimsy and I wouldn't recommend this technique. For just leveling a couple of inches, I have always used the stabilizer Jack's with no issues. In fact, the cordless drill I use will stall out before it gets close to harming the trailer.
Are you serious? The wheels are still taking the bulk of the weight, it's not as if the stabilisers are taking the weight of the whole vehicle is it, they're, basically, just compressing or expanding the suspension of the trailer, if they are too weak to take that strain, they're pretty useless.
I would think that with this type of camper, you usuely set up for a week or more,so the time that it takes to do this set up properly is worthed, there is some smaller but less equipped camper-trailer that are faster to install for weekend camper like you seem to imply.
Never cared for this type of rv trailer. Something for everyones needs & enjoyments. Personally out in the woods a Bear Or Mountain Lion would have a good time with this.
I guess if you're going camping for just an hour. Honestly, 2 people working together will have it set up in 15 min. I've seen people take longer than that just to back into a camp site, lol.
