Synopsis:
A non-confrontational Jayesh (Ranveer Singh) decides to defy his patriarchal family and flee with his pregnant wife Mudra (Shalini Pandey) to save their unborn daughter from feticide. A screwball, hilarious chase begins as Jayesh's father (Boman Irani) assembles all his might to nab them. Will this unlikely hero manage to create a safe and equal haven for his daughter?

ये बॉलीवुड वाले ऐसे सब्जेक्ट में हमेशा गांव के लोगो को ही बुरा दिखाते है, जबकि गावो में तो लड़की पैदा होने को लक्ष्मी मानते है और ज्यादातर तो abortion जेसी चीज cities में ही होती है। इन फिल्ममेकर्स ने कभी भारत के गावो को समझा ही नहीं । बस इन्हे जो लगता है वही दिखाते रहते है।

In the movie, at least the husband is supporting his wife's decision against the abortion. However, in reality there are countless cases where the husband works in full agreement with their parents' decision of abortion even if it means aborting 2-3, 4, 5..... or any no of times just to have a son. They don't care what will happen to the mother. Whether she will survive all that or not.

Do u know that in lots of cases even the wife agrees and gets the child aborted or if the family is really poor they will just have the baby & kill or dump it once it's born. India mein abortion bahoot common Hain ,har private hospital mein asani se kaam ho jata Hain no questions asked. One of the hospitals I know and work with it's the most common procedure performed and usually it's an extra marital pregnancy . MTP & Hysterectomy are the bread and butter of that hospital . Roz chalta Hain and the fetuses are secretly thrown in local river because if they're given as biomedical waste to municipality ( which is actually mandatary for all medical waste ) the authorities will immediately close the hospital. Duniya hi kuch aisa Hain.

Everyone is praising ranveer for his choice of roles and diversity he is offering..... But I am thoroughly impressed with divyang thakkar for his writing and having the courage to direct an A Lister. He has done very good roles in Gujarati movies and venturing into Bollywood as a writer director and being launched by yrf as a director speaks a lot about his talent and his skills he has hone as a director ... Loved the movie overall i would recommend it to everyone not a useless movie it's about something which is still present in the country not just in india but in the world female foeticide is a really serious criminal offence still it's happening in the country the movie is based on that. Mostly men are against this movie cause it's represents the truth of the patriarchal society present in india largely. Even a girl child is considered bad cause they see it as a burden and it's something that really should change their mindset about. Domestic violence against women still happening and prenatal sex determination and then abortion of it happens very much and i know several people around who has done it still nobody takes action on it. I am glad that they made this movie instead of a useless movie with just song filled in the movie and no story but this one had great story hoping to see much more films in india like this one. I would say no one is going to regret seeing this film i hope more people support such great films like this one so they make more of such type .

This movie would have been actually useful 30-40 yrs back. This mindset is on a rampant decline and in almost 70% of the country it has become negligible. बॉलीवुड वाले ऐसे सब्जेक्ट में हमेशा गांव के लोगो को ही बुरा दिखाते है, जबकि गावो में तो लड़की पैदा होने को लक्ष्मी मानते है और ज्यादातर तो abortion जेसी चीज cities में ही होती है। इन फिल्ममेकर्स ने कभी भारत के गावो को समझा ही नहीं । बस इन्हे जो लगता है वही दिखाते रहते है।

I wouldn’t agree with your Reel and REAL analysis. Topic may be a real issue but they didn’t make the movie realistic. Why add comedy in REAL issue movie and why Hero stand against the system why not his wife because it’s RANVEER and movie should appease the audience or else it won’t reach the masses. Same with so called South Reel movies they are made for the masses. I don’t see any difference. There are movies like Qissa with a REAL issue and Irfan Khan played a REAL role, imagine Ranveer doing same with this movie and we can say they made a REAL thing. Ranveer has to be a HERO in the REAL issue movie or else nobody watches it.

everyone is talking about remake let me tell you one thing Ik that all bollywood actors did do some remake but RANVEER SINGH never signed for a remake film except one and that to it wasn’t a whole film just a song so this movie should be a SUPER DUPER HIT..!!! not just becoz of ranveer singh but the other actors in the movie too and this topic is a very serious issue which should be definitely discussed openly…!!! On one side we blame bollywood of not producing good films but do we ask ourselves that are we giving importance to movies like this. South Indian movies are good but sometimes they only portray patriarchy.
