Guaranteed none of these guys watched 5 minutes of a Cal game last year….. how can an “expert” opinion be solely based on watching highlight clips. Cal season ticket holder here - Jaylon is solid all the way around. He did not have a “green light” and just chuck up shots. Amazing feel for the game. Consistently made the correct basketball play even when defenses constantly focused on him. Played with passion and a true team leader. Please don’t prejudge this selection after listening to these fools… I mean… “experts”
Tyson seems solid at the 3 spot. I'm a cavs fan and I'm satisfied with this pick. He seems like a guy that can come into the 3 spot and contribute offense immediately. He also seems like he'll be able to create his own shots which is what we need.
I love this pick. He's almost 6'7" (and probably will be after his final growth year), he can rebound, he can handle the ball, he can facilitate, he can shoot the three, and he has a filled out NBA body so he can probably defend the larger wings. He just has to be able to "catch and shoot" and move without the ball. If he blossoms, he's the fifth starter who pulls things together. Definitely worth rolling the dice on. Anybody at 20 is a gamble, and I'd much rather see the Cavs go for a guy like this than some one whose ceiling is "limited role player."
Like Jaylen Brown in 2016 - analysts thought Brown was “too smart to play in the NBA.” Or many Boston fans couldn’t believe the Celtics “wasted a third round pick on some PAC 12 guy” & from Cal at that! …that history…
Honestly, he's much better than they give him credit for. Sure, his earlier career was a mess, but it's what he did since then at Cal that counts. The way he ascended so quickly and remained consistent as a Bear is a very good sign. I think he showed us that he's ready to be drafted, and that there's a good chance he'll keep pushing his game to improve further as a pro. Even if he's not a regular starter right away, he will likely end up there in due time. He has a huge offensive and defensive upside and some real potential to catch on. I'm really interested to see how this unfolds . . .
Y’all are tripping!! This guy plays bigger than 6’6 on defense. He crashes board and will be a scorer with lower usage rate. Downhill scorer and physically ready to play
Jaylon Tyson is gonna be in the league for years to come. Looking forward to the day when this panel has to eat their words. The Cleveland Cavaliers got one hell of player.
They didn’t even show any game footage They heard dudes name and started talking shit What was the purpose of this segment? None of these dudes even have NBA experience
These dudes are corny. Not a single person gave any semblance of analysis on Tyson's game. He honestly reminds me of a combination of Josh Hart and Caris Levert. A guy who can come off the bench and create his own offense like Levert, but with the hustle and mindset of a Hart. They essentially got a younger, cheaper version of Levert with higher potential to replace him.
0:18.. don't players get better?!.. who gives a shit about anything but the previous year?!... why would 2 years ago matter?...I only care about THIS year and NEXT year...
Wondering if his defense will drastically improve if he more of a tertiary player. It is likely it will improve as he can expend more energy on D. I think as a positional pick, Filipowski would have been better and may even be a better player overall. But…, with two firsts (and low ones at that) you need to draft for potential and develop role players and possible starters. At best Tyson can replace LeVert and be a solid sixth man which isn’t bad at 20.
This is a pick to replace Okoro off the bench who they will let walk in free agency so that they can free up cap space to do a sign and trade to upgrade for a starting wing. He's also a developmental 3 and D player for Atkinson who is an excellent player developmental coach.
6'5"? Are you kidding me? He is not the wing the Cavs needed, but...could he be a #2 guard for the backcourt in case DG leaves? Or Is he a trade for another team who wanted him? Is this Koby Altman's last draft?
He is NOT 6'5". Hes 6'7" and hes a true small forward. Altman has been very good at drafting with a strong record. Hes not going anywhere, and you casuals need to sit down and give that garbage a rest.
@@dearmas9068 youre the casual. tyson was measured at 6'5.5. also koby traded kyrie for nothing, reached heavy on okoro, signed niang, and has not given mobley any chance at development. also refuses to get a backup center or really any size at all, because he *hopes* guys develop a jumpshot
@@drain5447 Son, Im one of the very few NBA fans who isnt a casual. I know more about this sport and its players than you ever will. Every opinion you just listed is wrong. You dont know what you're talking about. Please pipe down right now.
Love when a bunch of nobodies try to sell you on an nba player, guess how many dudes at that table has high level hoop experience? (The answer is 0 of them)
@@Itsalwayscloudyincleveland oh shit, had rewatch it but tbf he was barely in the video, I was talking bout the white dudes who took up the whole segment, my apologies to avery, he aint deserve that disrespect in the crossfire
