This model 5150 can handle part of a bale of either baleage or dry hay (it's only 150 cubic feet which is smaller than the expanded volume of a 4x5 bale). The next size up (5275) can handle a 4x5 bale whole as long as it isn't too dense and one model larger, 5350 will have no issues even with denser bales.
