This was very helpful for my animal nutrition course = ) It's amazing how critical the size and proportions of the feed stuff is to the cow's health and milk production. Unfortunately the farm I visit with my class feeds their cows too much hay and the fiber size often doesnt seem adequate to form a proper rumen mat.
