Jayson Tatum is a champ, but so much of the conversation around him is focused on trivial hate that will probably do nothing but get him to lean into the hate and win more championships. If Joe Mazzulla is showing Tatum clips of The Dark Knight Rises, then Tatum might be in for a Joker moment. On a more serious note 📝 I have a 13 yr old son and won’t watch a lot of my favorite sports teams with him because of the character of the players and organizations (NFL for example sadly) . I am delighted to have him follow the Celtics and the quality people all throughout the organization and especially the players that could be selfish or spoiled etc. but always show character, dignity, unselfishness and family friendly values. They are a joy to watch and root for with my son. Screw the haters.

I don't love agreeing with Felger (at all) but I do agree that I would love to see Tatum getting into his offense at the elbows more than the three point line. Having said that I have a feeling we're going to see more of that next season.

I hope so too. I want to see him stop short on his drives and develop reliable floater/mid range moves against the teams that sell out to stop him at the rim. He gave us a taste of that with some crafty half spins and hesitation moves to get closer to the rim, instead of just attempting straight line drives in game 5 vs Dallas and I think that was one his best performances ever, even above some of the 40/50/60 pieces that he has had. The step back 3's should be a resource to be saved for late shot clock situations or to occasionaly be used against much shorter defenders, instead of being a frequent go-to move. It's a very inneficient shot

The thing about hate is that you want it to be known, its borderline obsessive. The sad reality is that no matter the amount of attention you garner from said hate, will never be enough. However the silver lining is that, most of these haters will just continue down this path and live a miserable life. A positive outlook will always be grounds to build something on. Long story short and completely off the topic of this pod - I think this team really showed us that you don't need a super competitive and aggressive mentality to winning. Mazzulla is so good as a coach but as a person he's cultivated a positive environment. It such a shame people cannot see this. I thought I was a positive person but just watching these guys play has made me look differently on how I approach things. The following interviews and stories that are outpouring from this win just goes to show that if you block out the noise and focus on the task ahead whilst supporting and loving your comrades, you really can achieve a lot. Didn't think I'd be talking about life related matters replying to a sports pod, but to me this team was so special. So very special.
