He's one of the better players at that. But his team is also just more stacked than any team in this year's playoffs by a wide margin.

If you had watched the entire game, it’s more so that JT willed himself to do more than just score. Many of his assists were off his drives and secured boards in crucial moments. Those plays set the stage for a win, the numbers often don’t paint the full picture. JT defended everyone from Gafford, Washington, Luka and Kyrie whilst almost putting up a triple double. If that isn’t a class game I don’t know what is. Many of those misses are a part of the law of averages. Some days you miss shots some days you make more. He wasn’t the only one who had a bad shooting night. Much of Tatums drives and kick outs went to Jrue and his rebounding, passing and defending set the stage for Jrue to play the way he did. In the 82’ finals Bird averaged 15PPG, but averaged 15RPG. Tatum is playing winning basketball and is already averaging 10RPG and 8.5AST, almost averaging a triple double. Compared to the warriors finals he averaged 6.8RPG and 7AST. It’s a class game because those numbers helped the Celtics win. Like Mazzulla says, winning looks different every night.

Had the team shot better, luka might be look at 18 assist and brown 12 assist as well. Luka and brown gets double as well you dont see them shooting 30%? Most tatum shots attempt are 1on1 situation and his lay up are met with help defense. Brown manage to finish in traffic as well. Stop making excuses. Im rather tired of the same excuses for tatum for past 5 years. Kobe would have blamed himself if he shot that poorly, apparently tatum fans keep on making excuses

@@WestbrickFansGotNoBrains Lol not only that. If you look at when Tatum drives a lot of times he's matched with Luka or Lively. Those are favorable matchups. Of course Dallas is ready to send help on drives. Tatum doesn't look to kill in the mid or flaoter range. So he runs right into the help. People saying he collapsed the defense. Anybody on Boston will collapse the defense with Luka, Kyrie, or Lively guarding them 25ft out. Credit to his passing tho. He made the correct reads.

Watching a wing pass like that is just crazy! 😂 it makes Tatum unstoppable because he doesn’t have to score to have a drastic effect on the game. Assists are just as good as pts!

The big thing, the reason he's been great, is that he's not forcing shit. He had that one comical turnaround fade, that made so little sense even Doris was like 'Jayson, what are you doing?' - but everything else has been in the flow of the offense. He's not refusing to give up a good look for someone else to get his shot up, he's just not hitting. And given he's doing everything else at a crazy high level, I just do not have the energy to care. Great stuff.

@@Mitch_Feralgotta remember they go to him when shot clock is down and he just forces up a shot or it will be end of the quarter and he shoots a 3. He makes them a lot but sometimes he’s off. I’d rather have a streaky shooter than a complete cone who can’t defend a 13 yr old 😂

He isn’t settling for mid ranges because every time he drives the defense collapses. If our 3s were falling it would have been a blow out.We shot terribly first half and still made it to over 100 points

@@blackgerman9735 Not gonna lie he should add that midrange to his arsenal. He's 34% in the midrange for the playoffs. Tatum's somewhat predictable. His 3s aren't falling. So now he has to rely on his driving game. Dallas just sends early help on him. Plus they're switching mismatches on Tatum. Its not hard to collapse the defense when his defenders are Luka, Kyrie, and Lively. They are ready to help. This has been Dallas' scheme all playoffs. SGA punished that same coverage with his pull up game. I know OKC lost, and kicking out is the right play but if Tatum is gonna take 22 FGA then he needs to adjust his shot selection.

@@trongray664 if Dallas don’t switch their defensive game plan. Joe mozulla going to tell him to keep driving even if he is missing. Tatum could shoot mid ranges but driving has created the most open 3s . Even a lot of his 3s were open he just got to start hitting. He shot good from outside game 1 but game 2 wasn’t good . If Dallas adjusts then Tatum needs to adjust to pulling up from middy. The most important part is winning.
