@@amcsdmi yeah, I like it, and if but it makes it feel very bright and shiny. I love the original quality of the track, especially because it has a really rich alto sound. So that’s probably why I like to sing it in that key, just my opinion though.

Let's get this straight this song had nothing to do with jazz it was usually bossa Nova. If anyone tells you this is jazz they are wrong originally bossa Nova had nothing to do with jazz. Absolutely nothing I've studied music in the last 4 years and I don't remember hearing anyone in the class saying that this had to do with jazz.
It's really not a scoop that "Girl of Ipanema" is a Bossa Nova song. It's The n°1 bossa nova standard... The difference with jazz is only in the rythm structure (binary vs. triadic). Whatever we decide to call it
Jazz has many forms. You are wrong to try to limit the scope of jazz. This is one style, a Brazilian influenced style used by many top American jazz performers including Stan Getz, Cannonball Adderly, Frank Sinatra, you can go on and on. Don't try to narrow the idea of what Jazz is. You are robbing the idea of huge numbers of legitimate jazz recordings by our greatest jazz performers.
