When you do Baard Kolstad, my top recommendation is Moon. Unbelievable playthrough and song. Really tricky to figure out rythmic patterns and time signatures, but somehow flows flawlessly.

If you want to see some awesome metal/rock covers check out Caleb H (6 year old drummer, okay maybe 7 now) or Yoyoka (12 year old drummer), but wait there is more... Big band stuff? How about Greyson Nekrutman? He is 18 and has chops for dayyyyyyyyyyyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... yeah with a long z. Want to stay with jazz? Senri Kawaguchi or Kanade Sato. Those 5 people, one made drummerworld's top 500 list at 14 I believe, another at 10 (Senri & Yoyoka respectively). The other 3 will make the list before we see 2030. As for which video to suggest... Any of them. I can watch all of them for days. The only thing that is a greater joy than discovering a prodigy is to see them grow up on RU-vid and watch their talent grow even faster than they do.

This sounds like Michael Keene (guitarist/writer) wrote the drum parts... As every idea is so compact and locked into the riff. I don't think Rudinger is even on this record. He's basically a hired gun.

Hey man love your videos just a video suggestion/request do you possibly think you can do a sorta in depth video on tuning ive been drumming for a couple years now and i cannot for the life of me tune my drums. Good to hear that Alex will be back! You definitely should watch more of his stuff. Maybe try "Cause For Concern" or "Gravity And Friction" next. They really showcase more of his groove abilities and not only his amazing blast beats.

Hey this has probably been pointed out many times, but in this video Alex is actually covering Lyle Cooper's drumming from the album. Alex did play for The Faceless for a bit but Lyle's drumming is on the album and Alex is doing a flawless execution of it.

Subbed! You should react to Ray Hearne of Haken. Best prog metal drummer nowadays IMO. Unfortunatly he doesn't have a drum playthrough for their latest album but it's some of the finest drum work I've heard in a while for sure!
