I’m looking for a relatively inexpensive and small speaker that will work in my tiny living room and is portable if needed, and I’m thinking of getting two of these to pair in stereo. Do you think that would sound good? A pair? Would it be stereo?
I have 3 of these speakers - one has static and cuts out - I tried your Factory Reset - but it is still breaking up - and it is right next to my phone so distance isn't the issue...
I usually play EDM tunes like Tiesto and Armin van Buren compilations 🎶 and I have no issue with the bass. It is perfect!! Makes my room sound like a nightclub 🎉
The *Flip 4* is still the best speaker in the JBL Flip line-up without any doubt, though the Flip 5 sounds marginally better... less bright. I got mine in India for $91 in November 2019 but the price went up to $110 after that and has pretty much remained there. (In India) The reason is, while the Flip 5 sounds good, it is not better... in fact it is a major step backwards. . The Flip 4 is stereo, the Flip 5 is mono. . The Flip 4 has a mic, it is an excellent speaker phone. The 5 doesn't have a mic! . The Flip 4 also has a bass boosting feature. Press the Bluetooth and the Volume down button for about 10 seconds and you enter Extra Bass Mode. . The Flip 4 ports are covered with a watertight flap. The 5 has them exposed. How waterproof can that be? . Flip 4 has a 3.5mm / Aux In port. The 5 doesnt! Though it is BT 4. The Flip 4 has a bright sound and a very tight bass and open mids. (I reduce the treble a tad, with my phone's eq, just a small step and it sounds perfect. For speech and muffled recordings, it is crystal clear as is. It also has 2 active drivers and 2 passive bass radiators. The Flip 5 has one active driver, however it charges via type C, sounds good and looks as good as the 4, though slightly larger. The 3.5 aux input is essential for watching video without lag / latency. This speaker is a perfect blend of sound and size, portability, compatibility, style and ruggedness. It has an IPX7 rating and it lives up to it. Battery life is fine, not great, for either. The price, at $90 is fair. And if you can by any chance place it in a corner, it blows the lid off much larger speakers! This is a small speaker you will fall in love with, can carry around and never tire of! 4/5*. 1/2 off for the average battery and 1/2 off for being a fraction too bright. Flip 4 rules! **** 😊 _
You're talking a bunch of nonsense, you can't hear the stereo separation on the Flip 4 with drivers separated by just a couple of centimeters. It also doesn't have an extra bass mode, doing that button combination will only disable the DSP (something you can do on all JBL speakers, including the Flip 5) and will actually sound worse, with less bass. The Flip 4 has a flap for the charging port because it's cheaper to make as opposed to the waterproof USB Type C on the Flip 5, which is just as waterproof as all the water resistant phones with exposed ports. Micro USB used on the Flip 4 is outdated tech, and the design is also outdated compared to the Flip 5 using the more modern, rounded JBL's design language such as in the passive radiators, it also has better battery life. In terms of sound quality, the Flip 4 has nonexistent bass that sounds pale compared to the Flip 5 that manages that while also being louder. So no, the best Flip is not the 4 but the 5, soon to be dethroned by the Flip 6
