JBL LSR305 vs. Aiwa Exos 9 vs. Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers - review 

Best dynamics from C for sure, at times the bass might have been a little bloated but I do feel like overall it’s the best. With the promedia as well you can turn the sub up and down to taste. I was rooting for Klipsch being a fan, and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was C.

I just bought the pro media 2.1 blue tooth version for $64 today at Walmart haven't even unpacked them

I bought a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX set from Costco about a month ago, and really LOVE the sound. Tough to beat that THX certification and power. But there are a few things that bother me about the Klipsch. First is the detachable main volume and subwoofer volume control unit. The unit is made to mount under either one of the speakers. But my speakers are hard to get to. So my control unit is unmounted and sits below my computer screen for the controls. Not too bad. The bad part is how difficult it is to plug in and unplug the headset into and out of the headset jack. I often use headsets to keep from waking the entire house. But I love to use the speakers later. But the jack is recessed on the right back side of the volume unit. The speakers shut off when the headset is plugged in, as they should. But plugging in and unplugging the headsets is a real pain!!! The jack is hard to get to and not accommodating at all. The second problem is the heat generated by the amplifier inside the subwoofer. It is HOT! This will be a real problem during the summer. I don't know id there is a fix for this, but it is NOT good. The third problem is that there is NO WAY to turn off the unit. The only way is to unplug the it. It stays on all night using electricity and heating up my office. An on-off switch on the volume control unit would help a LOT! So, although I really LOVE the sound, the system, in my opinion, does have a few shortcomings. Maybe Klipsch can fix this in a third generation. I would really like that!

I spotted everything correctly and I don’t have any of these speakers, just auditioned them. I find them all pretty awesome, each for their purpose is fantastic. Klipsch is a great computer speaker, JBL as a monitor and Aiwa for parties.

@ 5:00 you can really hear the nice upper mids B has, while A sounds dirty and slightly muddy, and c just sounds too bassy

A is by far the best all around to my ears. The clarity and ability to stay loud and clear without blending tones

I'm about halfway, B sounds the best with most instruments and C with vocals, but I'm guessing B is more accurate. A seem to underperform.

The Klipsch sounded like crap, the best by far was Aiwa (at least it was what the mic captured), Was it also your impression listening to them live?

Never owned or listened to any of these before, and yet I nailed the results. I like the sound of the JBL's the best. I've always had nothing but good experiences from JBL. The Klipsch are awesome for what they are, and the best value. I use Klipsch Quartets for my humble home theatre, and the Promedia is practically a clone. I have a set of the Promedia's coming this week ;) I could tell the AIWA from a mile away; the sounds coming from one box is just too focused and lacking decent bass

Hey this type of review is brilliant, nice work. JBL just sounds hollow to me, too enclosed if that makes sense. Aiwa sounds really airy, bright and crystal clear. Klipsch definitely has that deeper bass (maybe it's a little overpowering) but it has that sub. Not an even-field comparison BUT very interesting. Nice video. EDIT: Just got the exos-9 today, and I have to say they sound fantastic. The bass is not at all lacking, it has a great punch to it. It's not sloppy or muddy whatsoever. And I listen heavily to electronic music. These really do a great job! I recommend people to audition these if they have the opportunity to do so. But if you do decide to purchase them, I think you'll be VERY pleased with it and your ears will probably love it too! :D

So, what about mic placement? I've owned those JBL's before, and the sound completely changes depending on your ear vertical level and the speakers position. These have a much wider listening position than most studio reference monitors, but still. Thanks for this video!

I prefer b then a then c. But sometimes a better and b sounds horrible on some music and sometimes c sounds best but on the least number of tracks. A is missing highs and c has too much bass and b mids sometimes don't sound clean, mostly with the piano.

Well, I can point out $500 (Amazon) Studio speakers through shitty tablet speakers. I could tell the reference sound from the very first test. Edit: Just tested again on my Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250Ohm + Asus Xonar Essence STX. Only reason C wins is because of the sub. JBL clearly has better mids and highs.

The JBL with a sub will literally shit all over B and C. The only reason people say C sounds better is because they have a sub and therefore heavy bass. Dont get me wrong I have both speakers and love the klipsch but they are computer speakers whereas the jbl are on another level

With the Aiwa you can take the music with you.

A) JBL... I knew these were the JBL because they are notorious for being alilttle bit more on the bright side But they are a great buy B) Aiwas... They sound more live lack deep end to me but sound interesting C) Klipsch... Good Over all Sound I heard a few things in there I didn't hear in other 2 there for These have my Vote 😛

Seems like JBL speakers or maybe Studio Monitor are horrible for Metal lol..Aiwa did amazingly well, but it definitely have to be Klipsch for Metal ( as I saw a video pointed that Klipsch is best for Metal ) @4:55 especially @6:15 , Klipsch completely DESTROYED both Aiwa and JBL. But funny thing is, JBL here did much better than Aiwa IMO...though it sounded muffle but it's lot " cleaner " I'm more a Metal head, so Klipsch definitely is the win for me.

Ah, you kids; looking at the votes you just like the "Boom -Tizz". One day you will learn that a Nice midrange and defined highs lead to true musical Nirvana. B wins - and the sq with that is just FAIR to GOOD. NIce definition and finesse with cymbals and HF transients with the Aiwa Exos 9. Checking out DSC great video as today saw the Promedia 2.1 THX on sale at WM for $99. I'll pass. Thank for the WELL recorded audio, DSC, with good comparison tracks.
