JBL John Bradshaw Layfield talks with The Honky Tonk Man on Shake Rattle & Roll about his career, thoughts on TNA and Vince Russo, WWE & More. Listen to the full interview www.honkytonkman.net
portlove84 Actually JBL was a pretty good Pro wrestler and he was an extraordinary heel! He was also faun to hate and fun to watch. All said in done he was not a bad champion. just my opinion..
JBL, King Booker & Vickie Guerrero never made me want to see them get beat up. They made me want to change the channel... That's exactly what I did. A heel should draw you in, make you keep coming back in the hopes they get their ass kicked next week. They shouldn't annoy the viewer to the point of watching some cooking show over wrestling.
They worked in both of the biggest promotions in history, and currently run their own indie. Bradshaw worked WITH them in WWE. HTM may have been there too in a behind-the-scenes role. That's not funny or marginally surprising.
The only original gimmicks I can think of at the moment: Eugene, Mankind, The Rock, Natalya "The Fart" Neidhart, Chyna, R-Truth, Roddy Piper, Macho Man Randy Savage, Kane, Undertaker, Big Bossman, Nails, Ultimate Warrior, Vader, and Ken Shamrock.
He has 3 things going for him: His last name, his buddy Russo and his own promotion. I guess that's more important than talent and drawing power -__- And the worst part is that names like Sting, Flair and Angle have all laid down for this chump.
