As a heavy clip 4 user, the clip doesn't work anymore, speaker gets worse over time but the battery is still good. Had it at 100% volume for a good time of it's life. So much the battery only lasted about 4 hrs because 10hrs is at low volume. Most of the stick on rubber is gone? Incl the jbl logo. Etc etc i wanted a better clip 4..this is cool, but only 5 hrs? That's gonna be 2.5-3 hrs in my use case.
I returned the clip 4 because you can't go back a track and it does not have a microphone for Google Assistant. Does the Wind have the ability to press and hold play to activate Google Assistant?
Another painfully redundant speaker from JBL. Why JBL wants to crowd this space with their own speakers is beyond me In addition no one’s checkin for a bluetooth speaker that has terrestrial radio built in and that clip/mount situation is kinda ridiculous. They should’ve gone with a stretchable strap like Bose, Marshall and Tribit…. No offense ☺️
The clip and the bike mount seem very fragile. Hopefully we see other parties making mounts and cases for this speaker. I bought some magnetic and mesh bags for the other small JBL speakers I own.
I'm still rocking with the IPod Nano, it is perfect to pair with small speakers like the Wind. I was trying to get a hold of the first Wind model. The round one.
China was experiencing extreme temperatures. So much so that they had to close their factories for a couple of weeks. This could explain the delay of the boombox 3
good review as always! i got the go 3 for podcast and a clip3. dont never use clip3! i got go 3 case on amazon rubber protection plus its got built in magnets for like working on cars ect. pretty cool. i see you back kinda smiling again! lmao! i was talking to alan ross reviews... he said jbl told him a chip shortage for the jblboombox3 was the cause of shortage on jbl..i havnt even seen flossy carter review it yet. and usally flossy got all the goods!
I have noticed on other brand bluetooth speakers like AUKEY if you plug in a aux cable it acts as an antenna. Even on some FM transmitters this work. Hopefully JBL is using the same functionality for this speaker. I went ahead and ordered it to check for myself.

Looking for a speaker for my escooter. I have a Charge 3 as my everyday which is way too bulky to strap to the scooter and an Encore Party Box which would be good as a one-off novelty😁 but not practical. That Wind is good with the handlebar mount but love the sound of the clip. I was actually looking at the Flip series and making a mount until I saw this video. Gonna do a little more research. I wonder how those compare to the Stormbox Micro 2 in terms of use and sound? I purchased a SM2 recently and it's more than met my expectations. I primarily use it when I'm hashing / hiking, and I use its rubber strap to fasten it to my camera bag. It's available for around $60, so about the price of the JBL Wind 3.
My clip broke less then a min after taking out the box I tried to install it on a molle webbing weight vest what I did wrong I think is not bend the clip back before inserting either way I returned it for a replacement
Nice review. I found that the mounting hardware wasn't the problem as much as the actual clip on the speaker. The first time I tried to attach the speaker to the hardware, the clip snapped off the speaker, making it unusable for my use case (Motorcycle). Thankfully I was sent a full replacement by Amazon. I am worried about taking it off and putting it back on again, which I will need to do after each ride to charge it. Fingers crossed.
Prior to watching this video there was a Bumpboxx advertisment. Bumpboxx has a pager that truly out performs JBL. The FM radio in the pager is banging! Someone needs to do a comparsion video.

Great review as always. I have two JBL CLIP4'S and two JBL CLIP3'S. I also have 1 JBL GO2 and 1 JBL GO3. I think I will be passing on these new JBL speakers because only having about 5 hours playtime is just not enough these days. I find myself never using my JBL GO2 or GO3 because of that as well. Thanks for posting this video and all that you do.
