It's great to know it, thanks. But i do not reccomend using it with your volume at max because you can see how the passive radiators vibrate, in long term it can damage the speaker. I tried it now on my jbl flip 5, it sound a lot bassier but at high volume you can also hear the metal of the radiators, and i'm afraid to use it for too long. But thanks for the video
There's no such thing as “low frequency mode”. That mode you're using is a debug mode made for JBL to diagnose any issues with it. Listening to music with debug mode active can potentially cause damage
@@wihz Charge 5 came out after Xtreme 3, Xtreme 3 is the last speaker that have this "mode", Charge 5 don't, Flip 6 don't, Boombox 3 don't. Charge 4, Flip 5 and Boombox 2 have it though.
It is more a loudnes button, at a low volume you will no longer get bass, go to a higher volume and the bass will come back, but then it sound much too shrill and out of balance, and you can no longer use the EQ app, it is af if the JBL does is own thing.
just bought a JBL EXTREME 3, if you use this low frequency feature I strongly advise that you do NOT turn this up for long periods as this can fry the drivers in the passive radiators. ONLY turn this on if you honestly feel that you just wanna kickback and feel the rumble don't forget to turn it off as it won't do it by itself its a hidden feature. best of luck ya'll #TEAMJBL
I'll have to check on that. Still really am pleased by this speaker sound signature for the intended environments...and highly still recommend it. Feel bad for folks getting one now though...since the price actually went up recently. It's touching overpriced territory. The gen 2 isn't that much different though, and refurbs will be just fine. Hopefully JBL can keep selling these without cheapening them. They really really sound good for what they are.
@@taurinurmse It works. Press pause button and minua button for almost 10 seconds [ speaker will turn off and then you have to pair it again with your device]. You will also notice that a battery indicator will change colour. Thia means that you are on thia mode. Its not exactly lfm but it boosts upper bass and speaker gets slightly louder. I have tried it and it worked.
jBL support told me yesterday that the Low frequency mode for Xtreme 3 has been deactivated to avoid damage to the device. So unfortunately it is not possible to turn on this mode on my device :/ Don't know why it works on yours...
No shit hey? Listen to the speaker in the video, it sounds like hot trash when its being pushed in "LFM" (It's actually a debugging mode for service use). Not only is it stressing the amplifier and woofers, greatly shortening the lifespan of the components including the battery.
@@damienlobb85 That's exactly what I thought, too. It distorted the sound a lot... makes no sense to me buying a quality speaker as a JBL to spoil its sound in such a way. I downloaded a good EQ on my phone and it works like a charm, without harming my device.
There is no “low frequency mode” on the speaker. You’re just taking off the safety and putting it into debug mode which is what they use to test the speakers. Playing it in “low frequency mode” can damage your speaker
Can confirm that's not the case I just did this on my charge 5 and the light flashed on the battery indicator so it's still available to do on the charge 5 as well
Merhaba ben jbl extreme 3 aldım LFM modun da uzun süre yüksek dinlersem zarar verirmi ve arıza oluşur ise garanti kapsamı içerisine girerrmi bilgi veriseniz sevinirim teşekkürler
@@alibaral4349warranty won’t cover it and if you do listen for a long period of time it will wear down way faster. You probably already found out but always better to say anyway
This is the worst thing you can do to a speaker. I dont know why it is called Low Frequency Mode in the first place when all it does is turn off the dsp and making it sound like crap. Many jbl fuckbois think this enhances bass, it doesnt. It has more excursion but thats all it does.
If you are using the speaker on full volume with "lfm", then yes, yes it can damage it. I strongly advise you NOT to use it since it is used for debugging purposes and not as a sound equalizer.
