I had sony xb43 ,the sound is loud and clear, even the fullest volume xb43 gives you very relaxing sound ever. The battery is incredible I always use in70- 90%volume.everyday and I guaranteed wholeday until evening xb43 is still working. I love the lights, you can change anytime, the sound can be change from extrabass to livesound mode. So cool
Quick Jump to Sample #1 - 23:52 Sony , 23:18 JBL Quick Jump to Sample #2 - 24:52 Sony , 24:20 JBL 28:05 Conclusion. 29:24 YES!! Thx a lot for this comparison/review!
Funny but in those times, with limited money and opportunities (without internet or social media) they had cars, houses, families, jobs... polished shoes and two or three mistresses. Hard time!😁 Now... with all the opportunities in the world, a large part of millennials, live with their parents, on their grandparents income... looking like a funny homeless. They can't find their own ass without Google Earth... and still wonder about style. 😂
Gotta see em in person. I believe the jbl maybe finally outperforms a sony speaker but the difference is probably so negligible. The real thing im jealous of is that strap. Sony could at least sell something seperately. I cant find anything so im going to have to make a strap and it may not be a good look but im for function over fashion
Found the Sony XB43 for 129 DLLS, for that price I think its great! JBL might have better bass but that's it, instruments and other vocals sound better on the sony plus having lights does give a nice touch! (: No way is the JBL worth 350 in my opinion.
@@bicvarcarapic6619 ah right. I also could ignore the fact that Sony will sink when submerged in water, while the jbl floats in top. A huge plus when you plan to take anywhere, even on a boat or sth
if i am not wrong this is the 3rd time you use xb43 for a review,,,,first time this speaker was almost a trash according to your review,,,,very happy that xb43 is STILL battling hard,,,,,,for the reference i use 2 xb43`s in stereo mode,,, YOU HAVE TO TRY THAT COMBO,,,,,my regards
i am a real world reviewer, no unbox, review then throwaway reviewer. you cant judge a speaker without living with it and i try and point this out. its not a perfect speaker and could/should have been better but i do use it daily, it forfills a niche. very safe sound with big soundstage but never great. so yes i have changed my view over time. 👍 only have one so never tried stereo.
I'm a bit complicated with the decision ... The truth is that I'm not a basshead, I prefer the channels to be cleaner (but not lose the sense of the bass), I've already seen many reviews and I can't decide which one I want. I don't want it for parties, I want it to move from one space to another inside the house. Understanding that, I want it to sound good from electronic, rock, clasic music, soul, jazz. Of all that you have tried so far, which one could be useful to me?
Did you finally purchase? I'm in the same decision 1 year after, and cant find a xtrem 3 in market's to compare, does the clarity and quality sound of xtrem3 is a step higher ?
@@stochy8344 yes, I bought 2 ankers soundcore motion +, but 1 year later, maybe the new Sonys, new soundcore it's a best option for money and sound. But if you have discount or something it's a best option, the sound is amazing. The mids sound very clear, voices proyect so good(woman's and men's), basses sound good x2, if you buy 1 the sound only decrease. With one o two of them(soundcore) one room of 12 square mater complete all the space, and a pool party its the same thing.
Whoa. I didn't expect this guy to be the nerd showing charts and talking about codecs. I had to watch 5 videos from guys who didn't know anything about audio before I found this one! I really like the JBL, but it's pretty ridiculous that they don't have AAC or AptX. I can maybe tolerate that since it has an aux input ... but they actually removed the 3.5mm input from the Charge 5, so I don't really like the direction this is going.
DJ in da house 👍👍👍 to be fair turns out xtreme 3 does default to aac on ios. But yeah £280 and sbc on android! seems aux is a thing of the past for a lot of these big brands. but there is always minirig who will give you a pair of aux ports and they work both in and out.
@@alanrossreviews Oh, that's cool. It's funny that Amazon and even JBL's product page don't mention AAC. I'll have to get the Xtreme 3 when I see it go on sale. I do like those Minirig speakers. But I'd have to get the blue one, then I'd have to spraypaint some Grado headphones to match the honeycomb grille on the Minirig ... and that's too much work. 🙂
I own the xtreme 2 and it's an amazing speaker. I heard the xtreme 3 and the difference is the higher medium and maybe deeper bass. But the difference is not huge...
brilliant review boss, i am still happy with my sony srs xb43... its bass on 100 is remarkable ... ur review was the reason i bought and gifted son srs xb43 to my father
I think bass are almost the same but the x3 have a bit more treble and sharp sound while the xb43 has more clarity especially in your custom EQ and also have more reverberation which may be due to the lower treble, at 100% volume the xb43 had cleaner and more relaxing sound than the xtreme 3 which I think is important when listening to music for a long period of time.
you want something with really good dynamic range. it would also depend on volume, for example charge 5 has good dynamic range at low volume but that diminishes with volume.

@@alanrossreviews I think so too. I've learned that Sony speakers don't usually have a huge wattage output. I am thinking that they use really efficient drivers. My XB-41 is 30 watts and it's quite impressive, other than being a little muddy in the high end.
I know this review was 8 months old but I definitely think the Sony is 42 Watts 2x16 and 2 5 watt tweeters it doesn't seem nobody it sure what the amp is pushing my charge 4 is 30 Watts with Bass my Xtreme 2 is 40-watt plugged in and my xb43 is still louder by more than 2 decibels.
I just picked up the XB43 for 115GBP. Could that be the best speaker at that price point? I thought of swinging for the Xtreme 3 but it's not available in Canada, and it would most likely be 50GBP more expensive at this point. The Xtreme 2 is currently 30GBP more and much older than the XB43. Wishing this is the "one" for me. After returning a Bugani M90 and Monster Adventure Force on Amazon, I just thought you really get what you pay for. Those 2 really lacked depth and I got victmized by the shill reviews on Amazon.
@@alanrossreviews thanks. The Rave Neo isnt available in Canada unfortunately, and Ive been disappointed with these Amazon brands forever. It's a hit or miss personally. I do have some Anker buds at the moment and for the price it sure is bang for buck.
Hope they tune down those highs at max high levels in an update, X3 sounds really nice at lower to medium levels though. XB43 hardly sounds different than much lighter and cheaper XB33.
Nice ..i think the xb43 will sound better indoors and if you listening at lower volume levels...but overall jbl is slightly better but the price doesnt justify getting it over the sony so it depends on your budget and ur listening habits
Which one would you pick for outdoors long-term listening 80 to 90% for all types of music for me mainly hip hop classic rock metal and jbl's lighter and got the strap almost a no-brainer huh what do you think
Hi Alan. If I already have the Soundcore Motion+, is it enough in terms of overall audio quality vs the Xtreme 3? I find the in sound the Motion+ to be plenty loud and the bass is solid enough for such a small speaker. I'm very impressed by it, but wondered about getting the Xtreme 3. I don't think it will be worth 200 pounds or in my case, $200 USD anytime soon.
the bass on the xtreme 3 is different level but they are really different speakers. the extreme 3 is a boombox party speaker and the motion plus is an all rounder but more of a window than a party speaker.
When you say its not great, your comparing it to something that is multiples of price I assume and you are the most audiophile realistic review so far, and can actually see the speakers properly in a normal setting and not neon glare everywhere
@@alanrossreviews I'm thinking of 2 XB43s for living room 20 x 20 ft cube.. no fing way splash for 2 Xtrm3s... With good EQ setting and fact there would be 2 of them i reckon I would be happy? I absolutely love high level sound designed detailed electronic music and have been using 8 inch monitor KRK rokits for a few years ,,, it might be a step down in soundstage ,,, or has been using monitors in this room been a fools idea (I got them because thats what the producers use to hear the details and I reckoned, if they are 8inch in this size room it will fill it..)
I have seen about 4 different reviews of the XB43, only in your channel the speaker sounds a bit muffled and distorted. Are you sure you didn't test a faulty speaker? I mean no disrespect for your work but I am concerned.
In the last part of the comparison when volume is set at 100 the xb43 is actually better than the xtreme 3 both plugged in and on battery, the treble and brighter sound on Xtreme 3 which seems to make it more appealing at 80% volume and below now made it too sharp and uncomfortable at 100% volume especially when you are very close to the speaker, while the sb43 is well balanced at 100% volume and now have more treble probably due to the slightly reduced bass imo.
Alan I bought the charge 4 and xtreme 2 because of you and I love them so thanks.I just bought the Sony Xb43 and I returned it and I am getting the JBL party box 100 and then plan to get the Sony later because I loved it.Great channel, thanks for your hard work it really helps!!!
The more I watch your video, the more it seems you are biased..every one knows extreme 3 has a brighter tone (which at times produces shrieking high) while 43 has got more weight in terms of sound output..now what you are doing here is messing with 43's eq and disturbing its mids and high by overdoing lows and at the same time keeping Jbl stock output at its best (cos it can't be change no in built eq)...sorry mate not buying...
@@alanrossreviews vocals seem a bit more forward on the XB43 and it's a touch more detailed, at least that's what it seems like to me through the video.
"I do use this on a daily basis". XB43. Ummmm ... I seem to remember you not being too positive about this in a previous review... I will have to go check, when I have the time. I believe it was when you tested it against its predecessors
yup, its not perfect, it never sounds great, its heavy. but its a lot cheaper now, has a big soundstage and a very safe sound that sounds fine with most genres and tracks but never great. its an easy listen and i only use custom eq.
I have all them since the srs xb3.... the only one i dont is 23 33 43......yes its true.....standard mode is flater but talking about loudness extrabass on forshore
gioviecelli any serious tests between this sony and xtreme 2 and 3.... people turn on the extra bass on sony! and sony in all other tests against jbl xtreme (2 and 3) won. only in this channel did not activate the xtra bass.
Xb43 but only because im not rocking out all the time and x3 is just a little too bass heavy for a goto. But xb43 will never sound brilliant just fine.
Bro .i need ur advise. Boombox 1 is price the same with Xtreme 3. Which one should i Get. I don't care about the portability . I care more with Sound quality and Bass 💕 please i need ur Advice thanks 😊
Question on USB-C charging, I can charge my XB43 with a normal 5V usb charger or a power bank I use for my phone. Very handy for camping when I don't have access to power. Can you charge the Xtreme 3 from a simple power bank or does it have to be at 20V? GREAT review!
@@alanrossreviews well thanks all the same 😊 just thought the xtreme 3 started to scratch the boundary between them.. but I get where you're coming from, thanks for the excellent reviews!
Sony is a replica of JBL. So to speak it is the shadow. Little personality in design. The lights look like a Christmas tree. Above, the battery does not last. I choose JBL.
JBL has better low bass but i really hate how thin the rest of the sound is in comparison to sony speakers, i was testing jbl flip essentials 2 vs xb23 (they were at the same price at the store) bass of the essentials 2 was awesome but the sound of xb23 was alot better where it really matters the most for all music genres, clear mids and highs, even if it had some really weak bass
Jbl All the way.. Yeah Sony improves a lot.. Its louder and cheaper but I like the tuning of JBL bold and destinctive sound. Even if its expensive I would still pay it to hear that legendary sound..
I got an old onyx 5 and fine for me for indoor and looking to replace my xtreme for xtreme3.. I don't like any kind of soundcore speakers even if its louder friendly price and more specs
