Mine is GG version, and mine got an update to 2.6.0.0 on 17 of August. (That guy who posted to Reddit was me btw :D) Idk, since I do not have any speical device that can record dB's, only my phone which is.. really low quality and can not record real values. Honestly, I don't know.. I just randomly wanted to go to the app, and the update popped up as usual.
Guys on 2.6.0 update JBL removed LFM (trust me I tried every single combination and nothing) But it’s worth the upgrade since it’s a lil louder and BaSsYeR
JBL Xtreme 2 Can you help me? Does low frequency mode work with firmware 2.3.0 ?? I have firmware 1.2.0 and am wondering if low frequency mode will be lost in firmware 2.3.0 or only v1.6.0
@@Wulfric001 Good. Do people know what sound quality is ?? I have JBL xtreme 2 and the sound quality is not that good! for example, the Altec imt810 has a much better sound if you adjusts the EQ correctly. xtreme 2 has too much dark midrange so talking is not quite good. xtreme2 has a little sharp between treble and it should have been more treble from approx. 10k to 20k. xtreme 2 is not adjusted correctly. from jbl.
How come you just got the 2.3 update on your PL model when everyone else has it already? And btw i have GG model and this has firmware 2.4 right out of the box and there is a 2.6.0 update available for it so idk :)
Almost all frequencies are EQ. adjustment from JBL? ! Differences between xtreme 1. 2. 3. are almost exclusively Different EQ. adjustments from JBL and nothing else. If jbl xtreme 3 has flatter and better treble and midrange, then it is ONLY an EQ. adjustment from JBL and nothing else !! It has nothing to do with the midrange / bass speaker or treble, it's just an EQ. adjusted from jbl. Not nice of jbl to do this with consumers !! This is only to sell new speakers!
Am just updating my boombox and xetreme 2 for the 1st time. i never knew they had firmware updates nor that there was a jbl app lol this is great. Hopefully it fixes power on issues I am having with my boombox...
I have jbl extreme 2! After firmware update to latest, sound quality got worse! not so nice sound anymore! There was good sound in jbl extreme 2 but not after firmware update! but most people only think of bass to volume !! V1.6 and previous firmware update provided best sound quality!

A minha estar na versão 2.4.0 e chegou a nova atualização mais quando boto pra atualizar ela chega em 99% e da falha na atualização . O que pode ser ? Não encontrei nenhum vídeo no RU-vid falando sobre isso , só esse aqui !

if you want to ruin the sound quality then you can upgrade! but then the sound gets worse! less treble and more midrange. The result is that xtreme 2 no longer has good sound. The best firmware was v1.6.0 upgrading jbl is a lottery, you do not know what you get
version 1.6.0 was back in the day when the speaker played 20 watts in battery mode and 40 watts when in the charger. at version 2.+ they made it so that it always plays at 40 watts. They disabled that limitation with a DSP edit.
