JC had a horrible manager, marketing people, label and I have no idea what happened. He should have been much bigger than he was. I think JT had more songs that showcased his voice and I think JC lacked that, he needed more songs that showcased his voice, it seems like his people just gave up on him. I bet if he were to come out now with an album like a James Brown/Smokey Robinson feel he could come back.
A PERFECT man!!! A charming voice that you can't stop listening to. Her dances were perfect, her movements left you with your mouth open and you could see that she put her heart into everything! I'm seriously so sorry that your career didn't take off more than it should have. He must have more recognition and there is still time to show him all the love, since his concept album Playing With Fire will be released on October 25 🙌🏻😭❤️ It's time to support him 🙌🏻
+Juan Rodriguez he is amazing, i tend to love the parts of nsync songs that feature him the best out of their music. just for some reason his solo stuff has a breathy hip-hop sound to it like they tried to make him into a pharrell williams clone or something, and it just doesn't work very well. but yeah he has an amazing voice and he should have succeeded. if aaron carter can sell well jc chasez should have had sales to the moon and back, he's so much better sounded voice and so much more talented.
+Juan Rodriguez From what I remember they tried too hard to market him as the next Prince... which was just kind of... weird. That image just doesn't fit him, to me it seemed like he was trying too hard to be sexy and just never saw him that way, I'm sure others felt the same way?
+Nickolah Lyn well what I remember is that, this song was way to sexy and it did not fit his image at all, he went form a boy to a man too fast, unlike Justin, he took time with his songs, inching his way to manhood with his songs, he did not just up and sang about women on women he waited, see Nsync had this clean cut, good guys image, all of them did, until Justin went solo and then JC went solo as well, but like I said before, Justin's songs were tamed and then inch by inch they became more provocative, he just did not jump in with the sex stuff like JC did so a lot of people that it was not right, and too soon, that is how I remembered it.
I FOUND IT!!!!!! I heard this on XM Radio & Im SOOOOOOOO Flippin' Happy, I Love This Song!!!!!! Im sad JC never was successful as he should have been..
I love this album! It’s so sad how it didn’t get picked up but I definitely feel like the songs were before their time! The voice, the looks, the talent, the vibes, everything was there! Smh so sad he didn’t get to blow up on his own like he should had.
I always felt like JC could’ve been a Robin Thicke like singer & go for that smooth white boy with soul image. I don’t know why he never blew up. Dude was awesome.
The image that Justin so desperately wants, and the media swears that he is. It's actually what JC is, but I do think he is afraid of stepping in Justin's space.
i think he started making these really strange songs that were not his style. All his songs were similar to JT's solo songs. I think he woulda killed it in the more smooth jazz song space
@Matt Luongo No, you're just letting your little man crush blind you from all that gluteral goat singing. That's okay to have a preference, but to deny Justin's nasally country roots means you want to believe in his industry created hip hop image so bad or you're just plain tone deaf.
Why did they do this to him? This song is horrible, doesn't even show his talent. There is no meaning in the lyrics. His fans wanted romantic songs from him. I miss him.
Dear Jc Chasez.. If you ever read this.. Please give us, your loyal fans, an album. We love you, we loved Schizophrenic, we loved the leaked singles from your cancelled second album.. You are a voice that our ears cry to listen to.. we are tired of the autotuned nonsense and meaningless music we are subjected to.. You have it in you, that God-given heavenly voice needs to be out there, and we, your fans, will willingly grasp it and cherish it..
skyllo I think a lot of Schizophrenic does. I never really heard it when it was released, except I probably heard Blowin' Me Up without knowing what it was at the time. But hearing some of the tracks now, they sound very similar to music that has been released in the past 4-5 years. I really think that this album was a bit ahead of its time, and if some of the songs were dropped now, would actually do pretty well.
I remember them playing this song in the club when I first turned 21. Always got the girls out to the floor. I really wish JCs solo career took off. His voice is flawless and he’s so sexy. Even still he’s like a fine wine ❤️
This song was, is, and will always be my dance jam. Schizophrenic was so underrated it was almost criminal. Sad that people are so used to overproduced, sterilized music that when someone does something creative and different they just don't get it.
I think he waited until the wrong time to release this kind of album, in my opinion. I feel that this would have fit in around the 2008 spectrum of music and I think that is why it didn't do to well. Because lets be honesty, we all know that he is way more talented than Justin and that he has a way better voice. I just don't think most people were ready for this kind of album from JC. I wish JC would just take one more crack at an album.
I remember 2006-2009 as the peak of the Timberland and Pharrell sounds moreso than EDM. EDM continued to creep into pop music from then on though for sure
Talent and looks. He could come out in 2021 and be a star. Many stars come back out in their 40's and have long careers. He's just too good to waste so much talent. This song is still such a bop. ON PERIODT
Great voice, poor song choices. He could have sing ballads similar to "God Must have spent" or "This i promise you". Also his image is better with short hair.
@Sezz Boss You morons are focusing on his looks when you aren't listening to the music. Listening to some of his material, it seems he does a mix of all types of genres, all of it pretty good some of it really great. You're trying to keep him some teeny bopper idol ffs.
If this had different lyrics (ie if it wasn’t about women pretending to be lesbian for attention) this would be such a bop. Could’ve been a club jam like Nelly Furtado’s Promiscuous And no, JC didn’t mess up his own solo career. He wasn’t free to do the music he liked or to choose the singles ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--iZ4DqfZpwM.html
Jc had the best voice of the group and this album was real good. Wasnt mainstream sounding. He shouldve been a bigger star than just a judge on a dance show. Too talented.
Schizophrenic was an underrated album, the songs are great. I'm sad that JC didn't release another album, too bad we didn't have that golden voice singing to us again.
Yo I love Both JC And JT. You can tell they both tired to lead in The group of Nsync. it's like they were fighting in the songs. JT had a better chance of getting out there hook up with pharell and just blow away while JC was the leftover. This is a Good song just wish he did had better management
According to a radio interview with former NSYNC co-manager Donna Wright, she said that "somebody was managing both of them and one was hurting without the other". I'm guessing she was referring to her ex-husband Johnny, who also managed NSYNC. It's also worth noting that Johnny still manages Justin's career to this day.
It's near-unbelievable some garbage marketing team, record label, and awful production guidance totally squandered the vocal talent and magnetic charisma of JC Chasez. But they did it. The result? Incalculably terrible.
JC is a freak.. im sure of it.. smh.. I really believe he is better than JT. JT, just got lucky with all the Timbaland collaborations. But JC writes all his music and songs for others.. he lacked the hot blonde pretty boy look.. its sad.. smh
+dsantiago87 blame the decade. People make music with the same subject matter in 2016 but it's not as good as this. JC was just ahead of his time I guess.
There are two reasons this didn't do any better, one was being he was having to go against Justin and while JC is a shit ton better at dancing and singing Justin had that publicity factor that JC never had and was never interested in. The second reason is the timing, whenever he released his stuff I think it was very close to when Justin was doing his thing and while Justin took a safe route I feel as though JC did something totally different and beyond the time. What never made sense to me is why he didn't continue to try and make another album since I'm sure he had plenty of resources. I know he tried to make a girl group called Girl Radical but even that seems to have stopped for no apparent reason. I know he works behind the scenes on a lot of other artists music but still, I wish he'd make another album. :(
Reed His solo album was bad.He was always my favorite and this sort of music has shocked his fans.. "too sexy " for JC at the time.Justin had charisma but he also had better songs made for him at first and continued with good producers.JC is a better dancer and singer,he is just too real for the industry and maybe that's why he got tired of ot.
CJ he did have another album called the story of Kate that was supposed to come out in 2007 or 2008 but the label shelved it. a few songs were released listen to if you see Kate. better than love and build some love.
Justin had better songs with no question. Had JC released "Cry Me a River", "Like I Love You", "Rock Your Body", "Sexy Back", What Goes Around" he would have been so much bigger. Justin had the perspicacity to collaborate with some of the most requested producers at that time such as The Neptunes and Timbaland. JC had a big voice but his solo songs, to be blunt, were catastrophic.
xxxTIN0xxx one of the producers on JC’s album was interviewed on a podcast not long ago. He confirmed that Jive didn’t want to give his album their full support (i.e. denying his requests to get top producers, marketing) before it was even finished and put most of their resources behind Justin. What really gets me is how they stalled his second album from release. On that album he worked with JT and Jive still did him dirty. A damn shame
this is the only decent song of his even though I can barely understand him. I wish JC would've gotten a good debut so sad to know he could've been a big hit
JC has an incredible voice and was completely ahead of his time. With the right management and label, things could’ve gone differently. He needed way more variety and depth than just songs full of cheesy lyrics about hooking up, though. The beats are catchy and I like the higher harmony line in the chorus even though it occasionally contains parallel fifths (which is sort of breaking the rules of music theory). It’s different, like a signature. I agree JC was before his time but totally mismanaged and too many song decisions in poor taste that didn’t help his brand. Not that other chart-topping musicians weren’t putting out similarly themed music (early 2000’s rap & hip-hop), but it develops an immature, horny college kid vibe pretty fast. It was a totally different time then, though…pre-social media and much harder to measure audience reaction. I feel like there’s still a chance for a Hail Mary redo given the 90’s and 2000’s musical references appearing in new music today. Most likely will never happen. Wish it had worked out for him differently!! Serious talent.
I was a huge fan of JC in NSYNC and I really hate the way they marketed him solo. His voice is too powerful and soulful to do this kind of crap. Give him songs with meaning and a great vocal range, and he would have blown Justin out of the water.
I think he is an amazing talent, and could write better songs for his voice. I think he may have been given a direction to go when he wrote and produced his own music. When he speaks, he is intelligent and witty. He has the intellect to write truly meaningful songs and the talent to pull them off in ways no other singer could. So why go with crap that is overly sexual. and basic, for shock value? Most likely, because that's what every other singer was doing at the moment. It's one of the reasons Christina Aguilera put out the single "Dirrty" before she put out "Beautiful". The record companies have a lot of sway in how you're represented as an artist, and how your work is presented to the world.
Also, notice, I said the way they marketed him. He has made some beautiful music that is exactly the kind his FANS love. If THOSE songs had been made his singles, and these other songs were on the album, or put out later, I think he would have been more successful. But he went from clean cut, to smut too quickly for the majority of his fan base. They weren't ready for this side of him. Going from singing his heart out in songs from a boy band (which honestly, it takes a huge amount of talent to put that much soul into boy band songs) to what I like to call "talk-singing" and not using the voice that made him famous, was just not a good business decision.
+Chelly Rainbow I disagree. I don't think JC was given a direction to go in because he wouldn't have made an album at all if that was the case. I honestly believe he made the music he wanted to create and that Schizophrenic is something that he's proud of. With that said, I think it's possible that Jive selected the songs on the album and the singles, but that's only a rumor, so I don't know how much truth there is to it. JC has been writing sexual music since he was 18, including Give Into Me, Digital Get Down, and Up Against The Wall, so sex is clearly something that inspires him. He doesn't do it for shock value.
+Chelly Rainbow There are plenty of JC fans who love Schizophrenic, so I'm sorry if he didn't make the music that YOU wanted. Musicians and artists know that you can't please everyone when you want to grow, even if you lose some of your fans in the process. JC was 27 years old when he released Schizophrenic, so I don't see how he went to "smut" too quickly. Justin was younger when he released both Justified and FS/LS, and there were sexual songs on both of those albums. Also, JC did plenty of songs that didn't have "talk-singing" on Schizophrenic (Build My World, Dear Goodbye, Lose Myself, Something Special, Right Here (By Your Side), Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love), Come To Me, etc). And like I said in my previous response, JC was never clean cut musically.
How did JC not become bigger than JT??? Even Justin said he had the better voice! He so needs to make another album. I miss his voice. This song was super sexy!
His songs and music videos were too profane during that time (early 2000). Although its sorta normal now, back then it was too sexual. Also Justin's first video, like i love you, made a huge splash cause of the dancing (his choreographer Marty Kudelka wasn't that well known then... This video changed the dance world forever). JC's however didn't stand out as much. Then followed by material that was considered too graphic for a pop singer and he wasnt as charismatic as JT (and they were comparing the two at the time), it kinda went down hill from there. He does however still have a good amount of success in his own right being a producer.
shaydshani "hey this person thought my question was serious and decided to take some time out of his life to help and answer my question... Time to be a dick to that guy"
Went back and rewatched all of the *NSYNC videos. JC's voice was just as good as Justin's. I found myself watching the videos saying damn how did I not know how hot he was when I was younger! I wish he would have had the help Justin had bc he would have gone a lot further. I like the words to this song I just think the beat isn't as catchy... sad really bc his voice is amazing! Love you JC! ❤️
I agree. No offense to anyone that enjoys this stuff but this is not JC's vibe at all. I think he could've killed with a focus on ballads and beautiful music that showcased his skills. He was twice the singer as someone like Nick Lachey and could've dominated that style for years.
ouch this sounds like blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah rapidly for the first 18 seconds...how did anyone let this be released? ouch. jc is an amazing singer, its terrible he didnt get better songs to actually showcase his voice better.
+Neshama Ziplon (Brandy's Selene Rose) JC isn't the type of solo artist to just sing songs that other people wrote for him, so it's not really a matter of him getting better songs. He played a major role in writing and producing almost every song on Schizophrenic except Shake It.
+Neshama Ziplon (Brandy's Selene Rose) I have no problem understanding him in the first part of the song. He wrote all the songs on the album(with co-writers) and you know what? I'm pretty convinced everyone who says anything about showcasing his voice did not listen to the album. His voice hits every note it would have hit on an Nsync album he just does it on different songs. In fact maybe even more he goes through some real vocal gymnastics here and there because he actually gets to sing the whole song, instead of having to split it with Justin. He also sings all the background and harmony vocals, except perhaps on Shake It, which is a collab with Basement Jaxx. Plus he has a couple credited guest vocalists on a couple songs, like Dirt McGirt on Some Girls. But other than that everything is him.
I wish that he was given more Single's that focused on the power of his voice. Because his voice was powerful and his range was and is still amazing. I think that was the niche he'd have. Just having songs and singles that reflected in his voice how powerful it was and how much range it had and still has. If he gets a single, or does a single that does that, I still think he can be big in the music industry. Especially now.
The song have two great things.. his voice..his sound. The lyrics is so stupid,(for that days Katy Perry sings I Kiss a girl, so ). It is simple nobody around JC want that he had succesed.
I hope Jc makes a new studio album. Or a new song that is trendy that can make his way "back" in the music industry. Jc is one of my inspiration and for me he's the best musician EVER. I know its kind of impossible but Jc, if you're reading this, please make some new music. There are a lot of people out there like me who is still hoping for your comeback. WE NEED YOU TO FLAUNT YOUR GODDAMN VOICE.
I cosign all of this! We need more JC, and he can release an album right now the way the internet is today. Between Facebook, Twitter and RU-vid , we don't have to rely on shady record companies anymore to get the music we want.
Happy birthday to you Mr. Chasez wish that you made more music plus you should've been the lead singer of NSYNC instead of Justin just saying happy birthday JC.
Yes JC had a horrible manager agreed jc was very talented and so much more he had a great voice poor guy he didn't deserve any of the bs they put him threw Iam a fan of JC to Justin to but I don't think JC 's album was that bad it was put out to soon he should had waited a little bit longer then put it out then it would have been a hit cuz all that other stuff was out that was going on and happing yeah I know he couldn't help it he was excited and stuff like that cuz it was his 1st solo CD so he put it out and didn't wait until the right time but I think his CD sounded like Enrique Iglesias CD 7 member that one it worked for Enrique but not JC but that was ok maybe now if JC puts out and album it might be a smash hit
