I have found hundreds of adaptations of the original. Usually I skim through and listen to the "major" parts. I started with Heaven on Their Minds and for the next hour and forty minutes I was captivated. This deserves many more views than it has gotten. Amazing work!!!!
I am very impressed with this production. Judas is amazing! Excellent actor and singer! Mary Magdalene's voice is so beautiful! Jesus too has a great voice. It was extremely well put together. Everyone was good!! For such young performers it was unbelievably good!! These kids will go far!
They are. Tom Moran (Judas) went to America to study acting and is back in Ireland where he is making a name for himself. Megan Ruby Walsh (Mary) went to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London and is now the newest member of Celtic Woman. You may want to search this channel for Les Mis. The same group did it a year before JCS. Tom played Jean Valjean and Megan played Cosette (she was 16 then). I thought Les Mis was even better.
This was 8 years ago. Some have gone on to be successful in the entertainment industry. The young lady who played Mary is now touring as A Celtic Woman. www.meganrubywalsh.com/
I've seen many productions since 1970, and this one was outstanding! It had the gravitas and the actors understood their characters completely. Jesus and Judas played particularly well. And the singers! Professional all! WELL DONE!
The original work never was intended to show the resurrection of Jesus. Your ending has been very, very freely adapted and I don't think it pleases its authors. Although it is true that it is a topic of much controversy and you have included that part that many miss... for tastes, the colors! :) Thank you very much for sharing your staging (I am very pleased to see such young people involved in this work) and congratulations on it.
