John Cooper Works... three words that epitomise fun! For a very long time MINI has been applying the JCW treatment to its 3 door hatch but now it is the turn of the Countryman. The Countryman is MINI's largest model and it has been given a 2 Litre 4 Cylinder petrol engine that produces 306 HP! Matt went to take a look at the car and some of the exterior and interior features before taking it out onto the road.

Hey buddy there was always Mini Countryman JCW before it’s nothing new!!! The NEW is only upgraded power train from 231hp in previous Mini Countryman JCW to 306 hp on models from July 2019 and some safety bits like breaks and cooling . . . You did not mention red break callipers or gear paddle shifters on the steering wheel ? The New Mini Countryman JCW starts from 36600£ BMW X2 M35i starts from circa 44000£ .

thing that most don't mention about the new 2020 JCW Countrymans is that its a direct X1/X2 cross-shop model imo and way beyond the likes of Rav4 and CR-Vs.. basically its the X2 M35i w/a MINI skin and tune and personality.. all wins!!!!!

if you want more info on this amazing SAV/MINI.. hit up my channel.. tons of 2020 JCW Countryman vids since well.. got my custom ordered one on Oct 31, 2019 and willl be past my break-in sometime tomorrow.. ie.. expect me to post a TON of rear bumpercam/exhaust vids.. also the power.. OMG!!!! its there when you need and it is such a beast!

did you notice the instant surge/feel of power when you toggle to sport? i sure do! also love the startup pops.. noticed that you get those if you are in normal mode and startup.. in sport mode i don't usually hear the startup pops..i also disabled ASD so the sounds i hear in my 2020 JCW CTM is all engine power.. ASD = active sound design = aka fake piped in engine sounds.. reason they did that? cuz its SO QUIET in the cabin in normal and sport modes.. i def will be doing a res delete to get some more glorious engine noises. ;)

I did notice the surge of power, it is the sharpening up of the throttle response which has that effect. The noise is great, it only gets better once the car is broken in past around 1500 miles. It really is a great car!

I own the car for 3 month and I wish it was as loud as the Abarth 500 180hp but it’s not ,it must be new regulation that does not allowed the manufacturers to fit bunkers exhaust anymore ! For me it not loud at all even is the sport mode with the valve open!

Who’d ever have thought a mini could have the same engine, gearbox and drivetrain as the flagship M Lite 1 series? Question is have they cheapened the BMW brand or up scaled the Mini’s? My money’s on the former!
