JD is the most real deal player out right now, anytime I watch a video of him I feel like I’m witnessing a lost archive of a psych, jazz fusion blues band from 1972

Just saw him open for the Allman Betts Band, and when they invited him up for a jam, he mopped the floor with them!

JD is 'Greasy Blues' at it's finest. Saw him at Mountain Jam in 2013 and over 10 times since. He has been with the same drummer, Adam, for the whole decade. They gel perfectly. Rock on

Thank god there's still some genuine rock & roll being made today. Righteous!

This drummer has been with JD awhile now, he was great back then and keeps getting better - JD keeps interesting company, and a variety of bass players, including the baddest tranny bass player I've ever heard (not this guy, but he's great too)...........rock on JD!!!

I’ve been watching a bunch of John Mayer Dead and Co shows on RU-vid. I would love to see Simo join them for a tour.

He's gone WAYYYYYYY beyond where he was 5 years ago. I was worried he was OD'ing on the weed and would lose his way. But no!!! Absolute respect!!!!! I'm also quite glad he has dropped the shitty fake 'mainstream USA' accent and is now himself again. JD would be a fucking legend in any era of rock n roll ... that's how amazeballs he is. We're all fucking seriously fortunate he's keeping it going. All by himself practically!

How did it take about a year for JD to go from hip frat boy with a weight problem to senior citizen Bob Seger? A little self-indulgent artistically maybe, but he sounds great.

I absolutly love his feel and playing. Fantastic sound but for my taste it's to much reverb.

Definitely, born too late! Wish he would add a good set of keys to his line up? Can totally hear B3, and Rhodes over his music. Love the seventies jam vibe. Not many players out there who whale AND sing as good as he can?
