Republican vice-presidential nominee Ohio Senator JD Vance has doubled down on his sexist remarks that Democrats are led by “childless cat ladies,” claiming the party is anti-family. He made the original comment on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show in 2021. He has also previously suggested parents should be given more votes than childless people. “I just find the entire line of attack to be ridiculous and also unpopular,” says New York Times opinion writer Jessica Grose, who notes that Republicans generally also oppose paid leave, universal child care and other policies that make it easier to have families. “There’s still this idea that if you are a woman, unless you bear children, you are somehow less than.”

Having children has nothing to do with voting. Vance has not spoken about policy. He needs to stop calling names . It is none of his business how many children or cats one has. Not one word of support in any form has he uttered. He needs to look at his own family, before telling peopple how to run theirs.

Vance has supported a nationwide abortion ban and even criticized exceptions for rape and incest. He actually said, “Two wrongs don’t make a right.” He has called Social Security and Medicare “the biggest roadblocks to real fiscal sanity.” He said women should stay in violent marriages. He admits he wouldn’t have certified the election results immediately on January 6 if he’d been vice president, and even said that he’s “skeptical” that Pence was in danger.

How can you be this dense? You had a child. So you are not childless in the context he is speaking about. Frankly, I feel like it speaks volumes about the mentality of the women in this country that they do not seem to understand the context and issue Vance is talking about. He is pointing out the sad reality that our society has become anti-children. Women care more about having a career than being a mother and see the entire idea of motherhood as something backwards or bad. In reality, motherhood is vital and it is essential for human survival. Humanity as a species cannot exist without mothers. So the most noble state in life is disparaged and looked down upon by those who have followed such vacuous lives and those are the cat ladies he is referring to.

So, if your answer to the above questions were a yes, then you are part of the problem and you would be exactly the type of person Vance is referring to. If your answer is no, then what Vance said does not apply to you. Your mistake is thinking Vance was talking about childless people in general when his point is about left leaning women, which are women who answer Yes to the above questions, that also tend to be childless.

If you think that’s not the case, look at countries that have adopted the policies you speak of and their birth rates. They are just as low and in some cases, much worse. There is no vetting process for "having" a child. I grew up in a "broken" (poor) home, and often wonder what an "adopting" middle-class family life could have done to improve things. The measure of a society, as we all know, is about the money (resources) to raise any child in the right environment.
