My rent went up from $1,300 per month to $2,600 in three years during the Biden Administration. Food went up tenfold. Cost of living went up. Money being printed and billions given to other countries caused this. Giving money and housing to illegal immigrants has caused tremendous housing and food stamp shortages for American families in my area. As a social worker, I see poverty on a day to day basis. What is happening to low income families and how poorer people are being treated by this administration is tragic. AMERICANS deserve better then the options and opportunities they are being given. They are willing to work, they are trying to do better but have literally no opportunity and the funding is definitely going “somewhere else”. Mainly towards illegal immigration which is draining the system of any benefits that actual Americans desperately need. You put on the oxygen mask on yourself before you put it on others so you can help people in a meaningful and impactful way.
On avarage tho salaries increased 18% as prices increased 16% I think across the board, tho thats avarage and it shows that the most effected badly currently then before are the working class.

IMO this election isn’t as hard as people make it to be. Trump is a great example of bad leadership and poor character. Harris is a public servant who worked for the people. The decision is clear. Without any interviews, we all know Trump is a terrible choice and ANYONE not decided by now should look at how September 18 feels after he’s sentenced.
What Vance didn't touch upon, and what all economists and media keep getting wrong, is that when it comes to tariffs placed on incoming goods, Trump is only putting them on products which we already make domestically. So if the foreign company raises prices to pay for the tariffs, they price themselves out of the market and the domestic product gets purchased instead, keeping American money here. If the foreign company doesn't raise prices, they go under. So in order to keep a business in their country solvent, the foreign country subsidizes the tariff for that company, which allows their prices to stay competitive. This forces the foreign country to pay the US money. This is how the wall on the Mexican border was paid for, BY MEXICO.

He was terrible on the tarring question. It is going to 100% increase prices on items the tariffs are imposed on. And if your only other options are more expensive it’s going to hurt consumers. I think he’s right on supply lines and jobs, but everything I’ve looked into indicates tariffs will hurt. There has to be a way to approach these challenges without penalizing the people who would be most impacted.

Well I started watching it and sth. realy interesting happened that not many people realized. In regards to the taiffs she asked him about consumer prices and his reply was that inflation was at around 2%. But these aren't the same. Trumps tarrifs did in fact raise consumer prices (because like Vance himself aknowledges you then have to pay more in labour cost, which costs buissnesses more and is passed on to us) but it didn't necessarily have to increase inflation because many other factors influence inflation to

Tariffs effectively ARE a tax on average Americans like me. You might be a billionaire or multimillionaire, but I am not. Millionaires are not immune to taxes, they write them off, they will continue to do so even if they owe more money. Also if Kamala was actually successful on taxing the rich, they'd inflate their prices to compensate regardless

There's not much a company can do other than pass those costs on to the consumer. Taxes however, as you say, can be managed through clever accounting. If a company ever says they need to raise prices because of taxes, what they mean is they are choosing to protect profits. Not the same thing.

I will gladly pay 4k more a year in taxes if I save 10k a year on food, fuel, health ins, elec., housing, credit interest ect.. the list goes on. Being self employed and making about the same amount 4 years in a row I paid about 5k a year less in taxes in 2017/18/19 then 2015/2016 and I asked my accountant why and her response was 3 words. Thank Donald Trump!!!! I bought my house in Nov of 2019 at 3.5% for 265k today it is worth 430k and at 7% I couldn't afford to buy my own house. Biden never did anything for Delaware the 46 years I lived there and they did nothing for the country in the last 4 years. Good job JD
