@@teamtoxic5261 I’m not going to lie, getting that bolt out was a real pain. I ended up cutting it off with a cutting wheel on my Dremel and cutting a slot to unscrew it out. Sounds easy enough, well not exactly. It would unscrew to a point and would stop. So I cut another piece off and eventually had it really close and used some needle nose vice grips to get it the rest of the way out. Then you have to deal with the pin to unlock the ignition to get it out. After a couple of hours I made the determination that since I didn’t care about the ignition I was taking out, I would just sheer off the pin. So I pressed down really hard and broke the pin and got it out. Install of the system was easy once the old ignition was out. I had to contort my body a bit to get to the stop switch wire, but that was much easier than the bolt and pin. Just be patient.
I install one on my crv because someone stole my crv 2 months ago and destroy the ignition. now I'm hoping they would have a hard time stealing it I hope.
I definitely think that this will help with anti theft. I still recommend a kill switch on top of the push to start. Beyond that keeping good insurance because this won’t stop someone from towing the car away if they were motivated to take it.
couldnt get my bolt broken to save my life. probably going to slice the bolt in the middle tomorrow. i tried a socket, a normal wrench and nothing could move mine haha
Quick question, now will the car start without pressing down the clutch only the brakes? I swapped from auto to manual and am having issues with the neutral safety so I was seeing if this would bypass it. Please let me know whenever you can!!!
It requires pushing the brake and the clutch on mine. My other crv is swapped and I would expect it would be just the brake pedal because I’m using a modified auto harness.
Yes that is a receiver that you swipe the key over. I’d didn’t have as much range as I wanted. If it was a little stronger I would have put it on the inside of the seat plastics so it could read from my pocket.
