Jean Hotteterre (.... - 1720), compositore e musicista francese, fratello di Jacques-Martin le Romain, prestò servizio alla corte di Luigi XIV.
Assieme ai suoi fratelli apportò miglioramenti all'oboe, tra le quali la diminuzione del diametro del foro, la divisione in tre pezzi e e la diminuzione della larghezza dell'ancia. Inoltre l'aggiunta di chiavi per facilitare la diteggiatura.
"La Nopce Champêtre" è una suite di 26 pezzi caratteristici per musette e basso continuo tratta dal volume "Pieces pour la musette" pubblicato postumo a Parigi.

Jean Hotteterre (.... - 1720), French composer and musician, brother of Jacques-Martin le Romain, served at the court of Louis XIV.
Together with his brothers he made improvements to the oboe, including the decrease in the diameter of the hole, the division into three pieces and the decrease in the width of the reed.
Plus the addition of clefs to facilitate fingering.
"La Nopce Champêtre" is a suite of 26 characteristic pieces for musette and continuo taken from the volume "Pieces pour la musette" published posthumously in Paris.
