We sure were lucky and blessed to have Jean Redpath with us on the earth for a while! Her voice always reminds me of the impossibly sweet music of the birds, the winds in the grasses, the songs of the rain etc.
Thank you for posting these three songs by Jean Redpath. I've heard her in performance, I have some of her recordings, but I only knew one of these three, the first song. The other two are discoveries for me, and I am grateful for your bringing the three together. And thank you for your notes.
Two different singers. Jean is more in the drawing-room tradition - Gordeanna closer to the raw bothy tradition. Both absolutely outstanding carriers of the tradition - the world feels a poorer place without them...
