Jeanneau's DS range is aimed squarely at owners, and the new 41DS offers decent cruising performance under sail and two big, ensuite cabins below. Yachting Monthly went to Cannes to find out more
hey man, you're my favorite person who does these reviews. you tell it like it is better then anyone else. it's like you look for the best and the highlights. but, if there is an issue, you will address it. i appreciate that. just feels like a more honest review is what i'm saying.
I like what they have done with the windows, very spacious feel with all the light coming in. Aft cabin is very well done. Not sure if the owner chose to have it so or the light hitting the wood is causing different shades to appear. That being said there are a few reviews with other interior colors that look much better.
I think the Velcro on the cushion backs is might be better for the vessel, to deter corrosion. Metal buttons on canvas and cushions may become rusted or corroded with longer exposure times to the weather elements which require further attention to detail.
I guess I'm the only one disturbed by the cameraman occupying the spaces being discussed rather than SHOWING them on camera. It seems to be a prevalent oversight by this camera operator and detracts from the clearly superb boat reviews.
Natural lighting with the window setup is attractive to create some of the morale and welfare elements tours at sea may have as a concern. Being under 50 foot in length, the vessel is ideal and appropriate or two week tours at sea. Natural lighting aboard, is a prime factor of morale on a vessel.
Another important detail, is the head areas, notably the sink, shower, and other water access areas, are stainless, which makes foreign debris, or water filter activities noticed in immediate time frames. Corrosion, and water filter issues, can be noticed immediately.
Hi, You have reviewed both the Jeanneau 41 DS and a Bavaria vision 42. I would like to hear your view on their comparison. It'll be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
But what is the ability of the windows to protect from heat, or cold looks like Mr. Beeson's vessel is ready to let you enjoy the best of both. Retaining heat or cool is also important amongst the vessel cabin(s) as well, considering windows.
The boat looks very nice however the 3 year world wide coverage is misleading. I bought 410 and within 6 months had problem with the engine. I wrote emails after emails to Jeanneau and did not receive any response. The dealer just stated that my expectations were too high it usually takes many days to fix a problem like this. That is world wide coverage.
The interior appears stark to me because I tend towards more traditional looks. It would take a lot to make her feel like home. Selected for TheSailingChannel on the free ReduxTV App for Smart TVs. The are completely different boats aimed at different ends of the market. The unique thing about this 41DS is she has the performance sails with folding propeller and the same hull as the Sun Odyssey range so then benefits from the performance and balance but further to that she has an incredibly commutable interior and full with owners cabin. The Beneteau 41.1 aims more towards crewed sailing and performance
The 41DS has a great hull design and better re-sale value. Ultimately it comes down to personal choice in design but the 41DS has very cleaver features and great performance so the perfect all round boat.
