This is where the.... sadness begins. A real tear-jerker. I won't go super deep into it to avoid spoilers, but in my opinion, Kanan got his eye-sight back because the force gave it back to him.
So Filoni answered why Kanan could see again, Kanan was so close to death that in his final moments, he was one with the force and the force allowed Kanan to see Hera one last time.
Kanan loved Hera- he always did. That's what he needed to say- and he did say it- through his actions. Also, I think Kanan maybe knew a secret we won't see revealed until the final episode. This one hits hard- and the lack of music at the end just pulls the rug out from your expectations.
Kanan Jarrus is a great example of what the Jedi should be. Like Ashoka, he's had to move past the ways of Jedi order to pursue the teachings of a larger Force. Like Luke, he seems to draw real strength from the love he has for his family. Unlike Anakin, the actions that result from those feelings come from a place of selflessness. A wonderful addition to Star Wars.
We're really in Rebels' endgame now. This episode will always be devastating, but things get absolutely fascinating from here on out. These last several episodes are some of my favourite Star Wars, full stop.
This episode is. . .well, let's just say it never gets easier to watch it. A great and heartbreaking episode. To answer your questions to the best of my ability, it seems that Kanan listened to the will of the Force, and because of this the Force restored his eyesight for a brief time so he could see his love one last time. It certainly raises the question of what exactly the Force is, as it appears to be a form of deity in that analysis. As I expected from this episode in particular, you delivered an amazing reaction. Looking forward to the last 5 episodes and whatever series you choose next.
The wolf showed Kanan the paths he could take and he chose the one that let his family get away safely.,.. knowing the price for their lives was his own. That's why he's fatalistic in this final episode for him.
the moment kannan starts to cut his hair I think at least to him he knows how the rescue may end up being for him so he want to look good for hera on the chance its the last she see him . when i first saw it i kind of got a he's doing this to show his growth but then i remembered star wars does take some ques from history and from what I remember at the battle of Thermopylae one of the Persian spies managed to sneak into the spartan camps at night and reported back that they were cutting their hair which they didn't think much of as they thought when they sent the spy it was to see if they had ether had reinforcements or retreated but what they didn't understand was that them cutting their hairs was pretty much them being ready to die in battle. the following day was when the battle began. so now I kind of see it as both him ready to die but also wanting look good to the person who brought out the best him.
Warned ya be prepared for anything, it still is a Rollercoaster from here. But they are all amazing episodes, you'll be sad and slightly happy when it's over and the good news is we get to see some more of the characters in some of the new series. You'll be happy when it's over knowing Noone else can die in this series, sad because you want to know more.
Yeah I can't really talk too much about it , Things will get spoiled but ya RIP Kanan Like a true hero giving his life for the people he loves But things will become clear they don't leave too much open things get answered but he is dead obviously Still gets me a little teary-eyed These few episodes .. Everybody's in disbelief and shock at the end, Your reaction was pretty spot on The look on your face is priceless One of my friend actually started tearing up While video recording himself he felt like he lost a friend he said .. Me my first time, I was in disbelief I didn't really tear up until the next episode hit me harder
This episode is so beautiful and so heartbreaking. Kanan was Caleb Dume again in the end, that's why he shaved his hair and beard. Drugged Hera was cute. And Kanan's last look at Hera (and Ezra) was a gift from the Force. Kanan promissed Hera in ep. 20 in seasone 02, that they will see each other again "We'll see each other again. I promise." And music was hilarious in this episode. R.I.P. Caleb Dume - Kanan Jarrus, one of the best Jedi in the Galaxy. And the best "Space Dad" in Star Wars.
We knew it had to happen, only we never knew when or how. That truly is a heroic death, a Jedi sacrifice. Doesn't make it any easier to watch, though. It was so shocking, at first and then, sadness, worst with every watch. He knew, he disrobed his Kanan Jarrus persona to die as Caleb Dume. And the Force granted him his last wish, for his sacrifice, I like to believe, to see Hera and the crew.... I love this show...
Kannan said what he needed to when he gave hera back her family totem. Some things are said with words, some with a concept to great for words. As to your other question i refuse to answer for now since it ties into the is he still alive question since while it is clear hes killed in the explosion but this is star wars people can come back from the dead sometimes. (Trying not to spoil anything in that last part gave me a headache lmao)
Even though this show is some of my least favorite Star Wars content, Iv'e looked forward to your reactions to it, Topness. I know you really enjoy the original trilogy era stuff. Rewatching this show with you has re-awoken the charm I felt from the show, despite the things I disliked about it watching it as the episodes premiered. Clone Wars always had a significant charm when rewatched, once you know what happens to all the characters we see the journeys of through the show, but Rebels has one as well. Rewatching the show knowing Kanan is killed really makes all the scenes with him so much more impactful, especially any scene involving Kanan and Hera or Kanan and Ezra.
I think that Kanan, when he was meditating at the beginning of the episode, could have seen the future and that's why he knew from then on that he was going to die.
Yeah you can tell my Kanan's attitude he knew something was gonna happen, and sadly so did I. I mean we're only about a year from the time the movies happened and he couldn't be around when Luke was with the rebellion and that means in contact with them at all. Even if they just stayed on Lothal the rebels would know where he was and could direct Luke to him if he was alive
Hera's prison uniform had the number 218-2010. I can't help but think that's an Easter egg, but I've yet to see a reference to it elsewhere. Best guess is that February 18, 2010 is when they started working on Star Wars: Rebels.
Oh my. Just finished your review and I’m at a loss for words. Truly. One of the best eps across all of Star Wars. The rest of the season buttons this up beautifully.
@@hassansulaiman3848 because it's Kanan at his apex, his best form. I know the ending is sad, but the ripple effects of that moment resonate for years to come. It explains why there are no TIE Defenders in the original trilogy, and it sets up the final outcome for why Thrawn isn't in the original trilogy either.
