I had a 2016 Chrysler 300 C that had a really bad odor in the cabin when the car got wet. Changed air filter 3 times, no improvement. Was happy to turn it in at the end of the lease. The '19 Jeep Grand Cherokee is thankfully not having a problem with odor.
I have a grand cherokee 2014 summit and i allready changed the cabin air filter and it feels like the dust gets in! And i dont know what can it be! Someone helpe me
Hey Gio, sorry I haven't had that problem in ours? I wonder if you could rig up some type of pre filter or maybe even get a legit HEPA filter like this: Bosch Premium Cabin Air Filter Part # 6040C www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/premium-3078/filters-16470/cabin-air-filter-12437/b28b1d2448a2/bosch-premium-cabin-air-filter/6040c/5871130/2016/jeep/grand-cherokee?q=6040C&pos=0
I replaced the filter in my 2018 Trail Hawk GC. it was the factory thin papter filter. it was Gray due to dirst and had some filtered junk. I replaced with a K&N Yeah I know a washable 40.00 filter. Seems to be ok. but when the AC is on I still get a wiff of musty dirty every now and then. maybe with compressor kicks in. will monitor
Hmmm, I wonder why it still has that odor? I've never used it, but you could try out a product like this: www.armorall.com/car-air-fresheners/product-types/vent-duct-cleaner-odor-neutralizer It might work?
Yeah, so far so good! I think the fresh filter, plus keeping on my family to use the "auto" control (to keep the AC kicking on when needed and help keep the ducts nice and dry) helped!
@@1Brain4Wheels I purchased the K&N prior to seeing your video. it does not have a charcoal filter. But my 2018 I do get a wiff of seems like musty dirty odor. SO I see. Have 32k miles right now
@@ronbyram3880 Hopefully that takes care of the smell - if you remember, I'd love to hear if that worked for you too - maybe their filters (Jeep) just aren't that good?
@@1Brain4Wheels Glad you have great sense of humor. I just pictured (with a laugh) the whole family feet- cheesing in flip flops and no one realized. Keep up the good work!
Hi Aubrea, it looks like the 2005’s have the cabin air filter accessible from under the hood. Check out this website, they have some info that’ll help you out :) wkjeeps.com/wk_cabinair.htm
I guess I could have started up the car/AC, but there's not really much to check... as long as the filter enclosure closes back up and everything fits as it was before the change, you've done the install correctly :) Specifically relating to the smell, I could tell by smelling the original filter that was the culprit, although I guess the ducts could have been smelly too, but I would've let you all know if that was the case - so far so good!
Think of it as being really really descriptive ;) I’m kidding, I know I talk FOREVER, just be glad you get to skip me in the videos vs being stuck with me in person haha
@@1Brain4Wheels well tbh.. I found someone else who's just doing what the title of the vid says. Cause like you gotta remember I don't care about your story man ya know I'm tryna get something done 😏
PredPhobia hey, that’s an honest response I can totally understand! ;) Anyways, I’m glad you were able to get the job done! Did you happen to have any smell coming from your original filter? Ours did (the original factory one) but the new one has stayed fresh... wonder what the difference is?
