Thanks a ton! My 2007 Grand Cherokee 4.7l had a P0882 (TCM Low Voltage) code and was stuck in 4th gear. After dicking around and failing for weeks, I did exactly as you said and my transmission problem is fixed!
I'm grateful for your insights in solving this issue, cause I had this happen today as I have the same vehicle but it's a 4x4. Same motor, I've been replacing parts on it and the normal wear an tear through the years it's upto 171,000
I just tried this on my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 3.7L V6 2wd. Connecting a wire from the positive terminal to this wire shown in the video didn't correct the issue with the transmission, but it did cause the Jeep to stay running, even after the ignition was switched off and the key was removed.
Mine is a 2006 with 144 thousand miles I"m glad for you posting the video I've tried ET and this is what worked the circuit board cleaning and all the other stuff did not work My jeep was locked in 3 rd gear and when I jacked up the rear tires off the ground they was free wheeling also I just messed with that wiring harness and mine was fixed I'm gonna track those wires down better tomm atleast I know what to go with now
Hello. Did you ever figure the "limp mold" problem out? I tried the same and I got the same thing you did (keeps running with ignition switched off), but trasmission still will nto shift above 25 mph....
I have a 2005 laredo. 3.7 2 wheel drive.. It looks like mine is black with a green strip. I count over 8 from the left side with yellow wires starting.. do you think it's the same? Where did you find a wiring diagram. Thank you
I am having similar issue with 07 Dodge Caliber. Can you tell me what the function of that yellow wire is? Like, Transmission Control Output, Solenoid Control, etc. ?
So you have a wire about the same gauge running from the positive battery terminal to that yellow wire you pointed? From that’s side of the connector that you pointed out?, I am in the same boat but haven’t tried yet cause I wanna double check that is what you did?
Does anyone know where the ground strap locations are? I’m completely missing one underneath the car and don’t know where it leads to. (2005-2010 Grand Cherokee 3.7) I’ve been scouring the whole damn internet.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 01:02 🚗 *Issue Identification: Experienced problems with Jeep Grand Cherokee not going over 25mph and not shifting.* 01:16 🔍 *Solution Discovery: Discovered that the shift solenoids and torque converter were not getting power; cut and ran a wire from a specific yellow wire near the fuse box to the positive terminal.* 02:06 ⚙️ *Power Restoration: By connecting the yellow wire to the positive terminal, restored power to the valve body and shift solenoids, resolving the driving issues.* 02:37 🔄 *Potential Reset Mechanism: Speculated on whether the issue was in limp mode, suggesting that the manual power connection might serve as a way to bypass a potential computer reset.* Made with HARPA AI
