The next steps on the 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ were to get the NP242 Transfer case out of the Jeep and get the Tom Woods Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE) into the case and back in the Jeep. We're making great progress on this build and we're nearing the final stretch! Once the case is back in, it's time to measure for driveshaft lengths and start getting the lift kit into place. We have long-arms, 6.5" coil springs, and steering links to get in next! Stay tuned and as always, don’t forget to LIKE, SHARE with your friends, let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments, and SUBSCRIBE for the latest updates as we get this thing wrapped up on the road and on the trail!

Man I hope you reply. I'm in a bit of a pickle with my NP242 sye. I even asked Tom Woods and Advanced adapter. My question is I understand the two clips used to hold the speedo gear and the big clip to hold in the main bearing but where does the 4th clip go I don't see it listed in the directions.

Sorry man, it’s kind of hard to understand without seeing it and where you’re at. I don’t have a speedo in mine, it’s been removed.

How many spline is the new one you installed and was your original 27 spline ?

Great question! Yes, the original is 27 spline and the Tom Woods setup uses the same spline count but the Yoke’s are bigger 1310 u-bolt style front and rear now.
