Well I can tell you a few lessons learned. #1 the finish durable, Its still going strong. Water proof, doesnt really scratch. Its tough. #2 with it being a jeep and im in NM with hot clear sunny days. Since i take the top and doors off a lot, it has faded quite a bit. Almost a dark grey instead of the black. #3. The carpet is intended to act as another heat sheild, so without it in there, the inner tub gets HOT. In the winter its a blessing, but in summer you really feel that heat radiating up. Outcome: About a year ago i installed Eastwood X-Mat on top of the Herculiner to help deaden the road noise, as well as reflect some of that heat. I cleaned with alchohol and just stuck the X-Mat right on top. Then as an added bonus a purchased an entire new Bed Rug - Carpet kit for the inside of the Jeep. I was looking to add back just a little of that comfort. The herculiner is still there, most likely always will be. As jeeps go, who knows where I'll be 7 years from now, but i wanted to add back a little comfort. Happy to answer any questions you have.
@@skatergod Thx for the reply man! Did you roll it on or use a sprayer? I just bought the kit over the weekend and plan on knocking it out this coming up weekend.
3 year update! still glad I did this. The coating hasn't scratched, chipped, or cracked. I use the Jeep like a truck to haul yard trash, sod,stone... Very durable. I'm thinking about doing the windshield frame.
it's great. it hasn't chipped or scratched. the only difference is that it isn't glossy anymore. it's a very dull black. And the front floor gets hot from the exhaust since the carpet is gone. not too bad, but noticeable. Ive used my jeep to hall landscaping material, 300sqft of Sod and trash. just like a truck. definitely recommend.
