Quick overview of the Airlift 1000 air bag system I installed in the rear of my Jeep Wrangler JKU to fix the sag I was getting from all the overland gear I carry when I'm on the trail.

This is exactly what I need for my JK! I want to put my dirt bike on the back but I’m worried it will be so much weight that it will just bottom out my suspension. I have the same rock krawler kit too! Great video!

Had my 1000 bags installed on my Jeep JT and they sound like crap going down the road. They squeak and I sound like sanford and son coming down the road. Is this normal?

Great and informative video! One update; I had to call them to verify that the 60817 (designed for the 2018 JK only) would fit my 2015 with 3.5 EAV Lift. They were friendly, but not knowledgeable. They said to not get it, rather SEND in the spring dimensions and they would get back to me with assistance when they were able. If you have anything other than a 2018 JK, they do not have anything that “fits”. Could be a warranty issue later?

For my Rock Krawler springs I called them with the inner measurement and they were able to recommend the best option based on that

I used stock bags for a '21 Toy Crusier. The 9" length was perfect for a lifted JK.

I have the air bag system. Have you had any problems with the bags pinching (on a Hard Bounce). Any solutions if you had this problem? I was thinking Bumpstops so the spring doesn't pinch the bag. Great vid's, thanks.
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 4 года назад
Steve Matsumura Thanks! I appreciate it! I havnt had any issues with pinching, but I’ve read reviews where people have. I keep mine inflated to 31 psi whenever I’m carrying gear and I’ve read that you’re supposed to keep them at a minimum of 5psi at all times. I definitely try to keep the rear from flexing when they’re inflated, though.

Hey brother cool deal man! Just got in my set and am doing the install of the bags followed sometime very shortly with the compressor setup. How did you align the spacers one being black and the other red and via the normal instructions it says stack them together.... then also wtf are these red cone things! Love the video and thanks for the info cause my springs are the same and it made it easier to figure out what I needed!
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 4 года назад
David Thomas honestly, not sure what the cones are for 🤔 mine came with the two spacers, I just put one on top. My set was meant for the front of an F350 so I feel like I just kinda did what worked 🤷‍♂️ bottom of the bag rests against the lower spring perch and I have the one spacer on top just to kinda protect the area around that air line push to connect fitting. I’ve had mine in for a long tkme now and they’re still going strong. Just this last week I was using them when I filled my 13 gallon water tank in the rear along with all of my other heavy gear. I was tearing ass down trails and I still have zero issues with them

So i got new coils and my new spring coils were smaller and my rear end is sagging a little bit. Do you think if i got these that it would level my truck out
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 3 года назад
If your rig is sagging while unloaded, then you really just need taller coils or a stronger spring rate. The bags should only really be used to compensate for a load and aren’t really a full time, long term solution.

I’ve had the system in for about two years total now and it’s still working and holing up great 👍🏻
@viasevenvai
@viasevenvai 2 года назад
My concern is if one gets a hole. You'd have a lopsided vehicle that is likely overloaded. You'd need to stop safely and I'm having a hard time imagining this is very safe.
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 2 года назад
A valid concern, but as long as you’re not over gvwr (honestly most of us are) you’ll be fine. I’ve had my bags in place and inflated for maybe 3 years now with zero issues. I don’t even think about them. I actually have heavier rate springs, but the bags work so well I have been lazy about installing them. These types of lift bags have been used for decades in the trucking and light commercial shipping industry, they are extremely durable, strong and reliable. I have had many, many, many conversations with many different people about these types of bags, specifically because I made a video about it, and I’ve never even heard of a failure. To each their own though 👍🏻

Hi, wicht one do you recommend for JKU with 2.5" Teraflex Coil Springs? Thanks!!
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 2 года назад
It varies for aftermarket coils. You have to measure the inside diameter of your coils then call AirLift and they will recommend the most suitable kit for your application based on your measurements 👍🏻

Don't what to be negative but it seems the first time a rock hits that air fill valve say bye bye
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 3 года назад
Yeah that has definitely crossed my mind, but it is still intact after a couple of years so I’m not too concerned. Even if it did somehow break, a new schrader valve with push to connect fitting is maybe $5 🤷‍♂️

How does it do when the bags are deflated? Any issues on the trail while flexing!
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 2 года назад
I can’t say I’d recommend trying to crawl with them in because you run the risk of a bag getting pinched between a coil. Airlift does says to always keep them at a minimum 5psi but it could easily happen. That being said I have had mine in for a few years now and I’m lazy so the many times when I should have aired them down, I didn’t, they’re still going strong. I have talked to people in other groups who have popped a bag from pinching it in a coil while rock crawling. They are amazing at giving extra support for a load but I can’t say I’d risk max articulation with them in without running the risk of damaging the bags
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 2 года назад
Just to be clear the bags wouldn’t inhibit your flex at all while deflated
@ojsarmiento4489
@ojsarmiento4489 4 года назад
What’s the height of the airlift did you put?
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 4 года назад
It isn’t really measured in inches. The part number for what I used and the part number for the factory setup is in the description below. If you have aftermarket springs you can call airlift and they will suggest a kit for you
@averagerider92
@averagerider92 3 года назад
How do these do during offroading?
@KramerJunction
@KramerJunction 3 года назад
I wouldn't recommend hardcore rock crawling with max articulation with them installed, but for average wheeling with mild articulation they should be fine. The concern is pinching the bag between compressed coils, this is also why Airlift recommends to always keep the bags at minimum 5psi even when not in use for load support. Hope this input is of some use to you.
