This is still the best video I've ever seen on how to do this. Actually, it's the only video I've seen because I didn't need to watch another one! I just now watched it again, because it's been a while since we've had warm enough weather to take off the top--until today!
I'm in Louisiana, but believe it or not, it's been too cold here in the northern part of the state to remove the freedom panels. By the end of the month, I'll switch back to the soft top until Fall. I've got a Mojito jeep like yours by the way. And hopefully, after it gets warmer where you are, we'll see more of your Gladiator in upcoming videos.
dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Been streaming with my brother for the last few days =)
This is by far one of the best, if not the best video out there. The owners manual is garbage and unclear how to store in bag. This answered all and any questions you might have. Thank you!
This vid is 4 years old and still serving its purpose!!! Thank you!! Just got my 2023 Rubicon and this vid helped make my first top off experience go so well!! xx
This was the best video ever for the new JL design and freedom top removal. We just upgraded from a JK to a JL and my wife and I were able to hit the doors off/roof off run in a matter of minutes because of this video. Thank you for posting!
Great video!! I was just out trying to do this, standing there scratching my head. The picture instructions from Jeep are about as good as the ones from IKEA! Thanks so much for sharing this. ❤
This was about the 5th video I've watched trying to figure the bag out. Very close tolerance zipping around one corner, but without the video, I think I would have given up. Thanks for putting me out of my misery.
Love your videos! Thanks for the tip in laying down. I couldn't figure out and felt so dumb. BTW when having upright strapped to the rear headrests, there is a clip on the bottom to strap to one of the storage tie-downs in the rear of the Jeep so the bottom of the bag doesn't slide around.
i have had the soft top for like 2 years finally got the hard top i just gave up and left the panels in the garage the first time lol this video definitely helped
I got to try out a Broncos 4 door hardtop, SOOOOOO much easier than our JL'S. And it actually is 1 person capable you dont havr to buy a lift or find someone else all though they do tell you not to 1 person it. The back cargo cover is about 45 pounds and about 4 feet long so you can easily just climb in the back grab each side and slide out
Honestly I’ve had my 2021 for two weeks and I had no idea that it could be laid down flat like that having an upright does block your vision granted you do have a reverse camera in almost every JL model however it does still blocked your vision putting it down I had no idea you could do that that is so awesome this video was great thank you
Thank you so much for making this video! I may try taking mine off for the first time today and this is super helpful - exactly what I was looking for !
Not sure if this was mentioned but the 45° angle is for the angle on the top. When you attach the bag to the back seat (standing up) the 45° angle should be on the right side bottom.
Agreed, they are all pretty good, but this is the A#1 best because of the small details. Like no need to work bent over with your storage bag laying in the dirt, in it in the jeep. And a very to flow to the clearly explained details.
Geeeeez I want to say THANK YOU don’t know why I was having such a hard time trying to figure this thing out but came across your video and it did help so Thank You...
The instructions also say to use the little clip on the corner of the bag to secure it to the D ring on the floor closest to the rear seat so that the bottom of the bag doesn't slide out during acceleration when the bag is in the upright position. I thinks thats important also if you don't want them to get scratched.
Excellent video & info! You sure saved my husband & I a lot of time! We were trying to figure out the puzzle, too! The illustration it came with was horrible! Thanks, again! It's no wonder that you have 632 likes so far! Extremely helpful video, bless you, my child, lol!!! :)
Good informative video. 🙂🙂. Taking off the new freedom panels are a lot easier now. But I do remember spending about an hour looking at the ‘not so easy’ “Directions” lol. It would be great if Jeeps salesperson took the 7 minutes it actually takes from start to finish & showed the new owners. After that looking at the included instructions would make better sense. Or they could include your link 😉 and make it super easy.
First of all thank you for posting this demo on the Freedom Top Storage Bag. Just picked up my new JL last week and took the panels off for the first time. But as I was putting them in the storage bag, I noticed the top portion of the bag was a little difficult to zip close. Have you run into this issue. I don't know. Perhaps I'm not doing something correctly. I do like your method better of laying the bag flat in the back to get the panels in. Seems much easier than trying to stand it up.
Jeff Davis Vlogs it’s sometimes a little tight, we just adjust them and push the tops in a little further. Also, make sure your latches are latched before putting the tops in the bag.
Thank You! That was very helpful! It was a bit confusing in my first attempt. Your explanation was pleasant and thorough! ... and your legs are amazing! ;-)
@@shockerracing No, quite the opposite. I really dig Mojito & other than having black hair (not color matched), own a twin to yours. My previous comment was a one shot attempt at being part of the RU-vid Grammar Correction Task Force in which I failed miserably 😃
I was following the directions on the bag in the wrong order lol. Also there isnt a lot of room with the 2 door. May just remove the back seats! :) Nice Jeep!
I have had my Mango Tango for 6 mo. and have not yet taken the top off. Been afraid to. Your video has me pumped, first pretty day I'm going to be adventurous. Thanks, so great. Also, what brand is your bag, I bought a used vehicle and it didn't come with one.
Sadly you can’t lie it flat in the Wrangler 4xe, but the basic loading technique works great. You just have to strap the case up vertically (which blocks the rear view mirror). Not the end of the world.
@@shockerracing The battery under the rear seat creates a shelf - the 4xe cargo area doesn’t fold flat like the gas models. That little shelf under the seat back juts into the cargo area by a few inches. When you lie the bag flat, it sticks out too far and you can’t close the tailgate.
I have the 2021 4 door. With my tops stored in the bag exactly like the video, the bag is too long for the tailgate to close....... i’m wondering if they changed the foam block inside the bag and made it thicker?
I just answered my own question... I have a 4xe..... and there is a battery ledge behind the seat that takes up a few inches. I may try a different brand of storage bag that does now have the foam block.
Do you find that laying them down is an extremely tight fit. Seems like these will rub against the tailgate and I tried with them standing up but didn’t like the lack or rear vision. Could do with 1/2” more depth in the rear. Also looking to see it there is a shelf I can put over this so can still use the trunk.
Hey folks... noticed in one of your videos the hoist you have for your hardtop could you tell me a little bit more about it. Thanks I’ve got a 19 JLU Rubicon in Sting Gray
John Vaccaro we use the Topsy Products Hinge Hoists and the Racor Hoist. All of the details and demonstration can be seen in this video along with links to the items: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QworGMGjfZg.html
So up against the rear seats it blocks the view out back. How about sideways, against the rear quarter windows, will it fit? Strapped to the sport bar? Or is it too wide?
Why didn't you point out the instructions in the inside bottom of the storage bag 😏 and, you should fold down the windshield bracket on the freedom panel when stacking the tops together
