More than just being the newest model Jeep, the best part about owning a JL Wrangler is the fact that its allowed us to start all over again. We get to install new lift kits, new wheels and tires and all kinds of new accessories but even better than that, we've been able to experience the thrill of wheeling a brand new Jeep, in a place like Moab and like it was our very first time. "IT STARTS AGAIN" is a WAYALIFE Epic Trex Adventure that highlights the all new pilgrimage we made out to the promised land in JET Li, our lightly modified Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. Along for the ride were our good friends Tony and Steph who came in their near identical JL Wrangler and Et and Michelle who came in their moderately modified JK Wrangler Unlimited. In this first episode of an ongoing series, you'll get to see us wheeling off road across the Gold Bar Rim and Golden Spike Trails and take on obstacles such as the Golden Crack, Golden Steps and Slide Rock. We hope you enjoy.

Man. I’ve been watching these videos for the past two days, randomly selecting them on their channel. They are all great! I’m not new to off roading, been living off the ‘main’ roads my whole life. I literally grew up driving off road. But where I am it’s different. I’m up in Northern Ontario, Canada. Completey different than the rock and desert terrain you guys are running in. That looks like a blast! I’m used to back woods, mud, log trails, log corduroy roads, swampy mucky messes... pulling more days than driving, hip deep in the mire..... I’m very glad you posted all these videos! I’m flat on my back right now, hope to be mobile again in the near future, but these videos are inspirational to me! Makes me want to get up and go buy a Jeep. I’ve been running trucks all my life. Never had a Jeep. But now, I want one more than ever! I have a truck build that’s been on hold for a few years now, but now I am thinking of selling the whole thing, and moving into a Jeep project. Anyway, from one small part of the off roading world to an other, thank you! All the best in your adventures. I look forward to more videos.

Sucks about the steel rear bumper causing more damage than it was protecting the body. That's something I hope Jeep fixes in future JL year models.

So... do you think that removing the rear side bumper support brackets to get tire clearance could have caused the bumper problem? He removed them after installing the lift.

17" wheels and 37" tires. The JL's have 2.5" EVO Coil spacer lifts and the JK is running about 3.5" on his coilovers.

We did the triple threat on Thursday of EJS in a two door. We tried the waterfall going up and it almost ended with a flop. The four doors crawled right up, all two doors had to take a winch including me. At some point either on that trail or cliffhanger on big Saturday we bent the spare tire pin on a rear LOD bumper. I think we need that hitch mounted stinger you got. Great video as always.

Ik this is going to sound extremely unmanly but keep a thing of black or body color finger nail polish in your console if u get body color u can get some with metallic in it and for your standard black and white they make that to usually it's a closer match to your paint than a spray can

Actually, it's running a factory rear axle and a Dynatrac ProRock 44 front axle. The rear locker wiring got pulled out of the plug due to the big droop his coil overs provide. Without the rear locker working, you can't get the front to turn on.

Why are all the reviews on Rubicons?? Lets see the capability of Saharas and the bare bone ones lol.

Actually, we did do one video with a Sahara and you can see it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vJuaGF042Bk.html Otherwise, we can only do reviews on vehicles that we own. Sorry.

Excellent video...1988 wrangler 2.4 liter.... can i do this as well?
@wayalife

Built up, it can do a lot but the short wheel base and lack of power would put it at a disadvantage out in Moab.

Another great video! Definitely living vicariously through you. Ordered my Punk'n Rubicon last week, checked the maps and it's only 29 hours drive from Toronto ;) In case I ever decide to do this, and since I'll likely never change from the stock 33's, how many of these trails would be accessible?
@wayalife

Are you kidding? You can do most of them no problem. Some will be harder than others but most have bypasses to the hardest stuff. Make sure you go with at least one other Jeep and you'll have a great time.

Are you still enjoying you JL wrangler? I bought one on the 16th and have had it in and out of the service department for an AC issue that they’re not getting fixed. Mine is a JL as well.

Yeah, I guess we've been lucky with ours. Love the JL!

They seem like a great vehicle and a lot of fun. Unfortunately our experience hasn’t been good so far, but hopefully it will get resolved soon. At this point we’re hoping to get a different one that’s not a Lemmon. Wish us luck, maybe someday we’ll be able to go out in our Jeep and ride with you on one of these adventures. Thanks for getting back with me and answering my question.

When you air down, what pressure do you go to, and what is the regular pressure? Thanks!
@wayalife
@wayalife 6 лет назад
You need to be running 37 psi to keep the TPMS warning light from coming on. What you air down to depends on the terrain you'll be wheeling on. Going down to about 16-18 is nice to soften up the ride on a rough dirt road and 12-15 is good to help you get better traction on the rocks. Unless you're running beadlocks, I probably wouldn't recommend you go lower than that.

Hi Eddie! Another great video! Have you changed gears for the 37's yet?
@wayalife

With 4.10 gears and the new 8-speed auto, we haven't felt a need for it the way we did on the JK.

Start with love the videos and all the info. you supply. do you have a noticible decrease in proformance on and off the road with the 37" tires? Would you recomend changing the 4:10 gear ratio if to what?
@wayalife
@wayalife 6 лет назад
Unlike the JK before, the 8-speed automatic transmission does GREAT pushing 37's. We've felt no need to regear.

Were you running the stock dana44s with the 37" coopers?

Yup. With 37's, the factory 44's do great.
