I agree. I am not a mechanic nor will i mod Jake like Eddie does his. But what little mods i do get will be ones Eddie has used. His install videos are easy to follow. However like Dirty Harry always says "a good man has to know his limitations". When i go to have the rock lights and cb wiring done i will have to go to a dealer or something. No way i trust myself with that.
Hahaha, I was following along step by step and got to the part about the additional loops and laughed out loud. Thanks for keeping it real and not redoing the video 🤘🏼
Just installed the spiderweb and your video helped out a lot. I installed the top one screw at a time left and right so it would center properly and it only took me 30 min total time!!!! I also have all the correct power tools!! Thanks a million!!!
Got my spider web shade finally. We only got the 2 door one cause i do not ever see us taking the rear top off. Followed your guide step by step. The front corners of the windshield and the rear 2 corners where the hardest to install. The front 2 corners kept popping off when i stretched the shade out. I knew the rear 2 would be a PIA cause my hands and fingers are big and it was tough snaking the loop under the roof and above the roll cage. I got everything on nice and snug. Now we are going to take the rough off for the 1st time when we go visit Jake's (the dog i named my jeep after) grave tonight. Thanks for all your videos Eddie they make the install easier than the instructions do.
I just picked up a shade for our JK, Until now we've been using a bikini top which is great to block the sun but as you said, also blocks the view. Thanks for sharing, this is nice clean look and doesn't hinder the function of the top or no top abilities!
Just ordered! I have to say, amazing company to order from, I had a question and in less than a hour, an answer! Like wow, crazy fast customer service. I am already impressed by their response and can’t wait to receive the product.
Wayalife And it already shipped! Amazon has nothing on spiderwebshade, haha. I hope they come out with the rear cargo shade, like on the JK. I would love to have my cooler in the shade.
Perfect video. My wife saw it and got me the Spiderweb top for my birthday. We watched the video and had it installed in no time. Love your videos. Great job. fyi - mine had felt on the back plastic buttons so as not to scratch the paint. That’s pretty cool (although I still applied the adhesive 🤷🏻♂️)
Just wondering if you've ever come accross a bikini top that is a hybrid soft top that uses the OEM or aftermarket door surrounds that give you protection from the wind, but also has an open feeling with the perforations of the typical sunshade. Seems like BestTop used to make one for the JK.. but it still was very flappy. Seems this would be a product perfect for the Wrangler.
Looks great! I'd like to get something like this for my '24 JLUR but I have the side curtain air bags. I'm trying to find the best sunshade for the '24s.
Wherever you went at the tail end of the video was beautiful! I got the 2 piece alienshade and it hasn’t been too bad. Biggest issue I’ve had which I imagine it would be the same with the spider shade that being 6’2” my head constantly rubs against it but otherwise something nice when having the top off.
Always impressed! You have every trinket and tool! Question. Can you place the hard top back on with the shade still in place? Lol! Never mind! I almost missed the end where you answer this! Lol!
Awesome Video! I noticed at the end you have an overhead CB radio mount. Ive been search for a good overhead CB mount! Is the one in the video custom made or aftermarket?
I make and sell the mount that you see. I have a video for it coming out next week but you can see it in greater detail and order one here: jlwrangler.com/showthread.php?1969-CB-BAR-Jeep-JL-Wrangler-NO-DRILL-NO-CUT-Overhead-CB-Radio-Mount-NOW-AVAILABLE!
Actually, it's coming next week :) But for now, you can see it in written form here: jlwrangler.com/showthread.php?1969-CB-BAR-Jeep-JL-Wrangler-NO-DRILL-NO-CUT-Overhead-CB-Radio-Mount-NOW-AVAILABLE!
I live in Florida and it is hot here but cool to ride near the beach wit the top down. I definitely need this. Please hook me up Wayalife!!! By the way, love it when you slam stuff on the metal table. It seems to be your thing is your videos. 👍
So i know we briefly talked about, the jl and Moby being the lsjk. I think and would love a video dedicated bc i really need some advice and i bet plenty of people are in same boat as me, we would, like and yes i am speaking,v for a lot of us. We want a real comparison to Moby and jl, which one drives Better on and off road. Which one do u prefer. Money spent on ls swap compared to buying new jl. The works and full comparison of the two vehicles.
There really is no comparison between the two or at least, at this point and time. If performance is what you're wanting, Moby has it all day and night. If new and pretty is what you're wanting, Jet owns it.
Thanks for another totally bitchin great video.!.! I first saw this shade vis-a-vi Litebrite. Fun fact Kevin and Brit are working the Rubicon currently.
There were issues early on or at least in the rear as there were 2 plastic pieces that dug into the paint. It is my understanding that they've resolved this issue and provide a protective film just to make sure it doesn't do damage.
put mine on about 1yr ago - have you noticed any additional wind noise? looks like the windshield still sits flush enough, even with the chords there...
Thanks for another great install video! Looks like a great sunshade. Just wondering: do you think Spiderweb could improve on it by increasing the width so the material extended past the inside edge of the roll bar? (To eliminate the gap between the roll bar and sunshade.) Thanks for your time.
Are the loops really so tight you can’t pull them on with just a finger? Is the strap really necessary? Nice that they include the protective tape for the paint!
It's not that they're so tight but rather, it's kind of tricky to get them around the spider nubs being that there's so little space between it and the plastic trim. The loop just makes it easier.
I'm digging your videos. I got a question though, could enlighten me or make a video how you set up your cb radio by the windshield? I've got an older cobra 25 Ltd st and wanted to install it but wasn't sure how to. Thank you.
I make and sell the CB mount. You can see and buy it here: jlwrangler.com/showthread.php?1969-CB-BAR-Jeep-JL-Wrangler-NO-DRILL-NO-CUT-Overhead-CB-Radio-Mount-NOW-AVAILABLE!
I think Spiderweb just utilized what the JL had and improved on their design. If the JK came with trim screws, I'm sure they could do something for it as well.
The mesh tops are nice in that they still have an open air 'feel' and still do a pretty good job of keeping the sun off of you and therefore, help you to stay cool. A traditional bikini top that is solid is nice in that they offer full shade and even a little protection from something like a sudden summer rain shower.
How much of a pain is it to put on and take off the freedom panels with the shade on? If one had a shade with an image on it is that noticeable from the inside looking up?
@@wayalife Thanks for the feedback and also thanks for sharing your love and knowledge on all things regarding Jeeps. Your videos are first rate to say the least.
@wayalife nice installation. Why did you go with Spiderweb? I've been comparing spiderweb vs Dirty Dog shade which is 2 pieces I believe. Do you have to remove the shade if you want to reinstall the complete hard top?
If you watch the video to the end, you will see where I reinstall the freedom top panels over the Spiderweb Sunshade. The rest of the top goes on without any issues.
I love your videos! Do you think GPCA grab handles would interfere with the spiderweb shade? I don’t have my shade on yet and am about to order the GPCA grab handles but saw that someone posted some grab handles on FB market place because they interfered with his sunshade. I messaged him but got no response. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance
It does not flap at high speeds. Early on, there was an issue with the plastic tabs at the back of the top wearing through the paint on the c-pillar roll bar but they now provide a protector for that.
I make and sell the CB mount that you see. A video install of it will be coming out next week. If you'd like to see a written write-up or to buy one for your JL, click on this link: jlwrangler.com/showthread.php?1969-CB-BAR-Jeep-JL-Wrangler-NO-DRILL-NO-CUT-Overhead-CB-Radio-Mount-NOW-AVAILABLE!
