I’m the Customer. Rory and his team were awesome. I hope I never need them again but if I do they are my first call. Wearing our T-Shirts with pride. Thanks @trailmater.
Perfect. Just poured my coffee and now it’s time to sit back and watch the crew do their thing. And please remember to like it if you watch it. It’s the least we could do for Rory and crew.
Funniest thing about Rory’s Thor joke was Shawn being slow to react. 😉 Customer should be charged double since he evidently knew the lugs were loose and didn’t do anything about it before going up Hell’s revenge AND he kept getting under or too close to the Jeep while Rory was working on it! On the positive side, two unexpected jokes in one video! 💕😂👍
I’ve said it many times … but one more won’t hurt … I love those trail fixes, Rory. They never get old. This has to be the very best You Tube channel! The scenery, the camaraderie of you three guys, the trail fixes, the driving … everything …. It all clicks into one enjoyable whole. Don’t change a thing!
I just won’t thank you 4 guys, and all your crew’s. Without a doubt These are the best four channels on the Internet. They entertain and encourage, and they teach. These are my favorites in no particular order. Trail Mater, Robby Layton and the boss, Fab Rat, Matt’s Off Road Recovery.
I just bought a '58 CJ5. While trying to remove the wheels, I broke off every lug on the left front. As I'm breaking them off one by one, I'm thinking the whole time what in the world is going on. (Those were not my exact thoughts) I didn't know about the left hand thread on these until I was researching new lugs. Lesson learned. 🤣
Rory.... Its amazing to me that your rigs are so trouble free.... the forces of torque, weight and outright hammering are horrific, and yet.... You go on rescue after rescue and never break down.... You have combined the perfect drive train to the job required.... AWESOME RECOVERIES....
That's because for the past several decades, Rory has watched what individual components last forever and which break every year, both on his own vehicles and everyone else's around him. He has now, finally, assembled the Trail Mater out of the (add Flight of the Valkyries here) Everlasting Components (end music). Well, at least he had until you jinxed it. (add middle finger of shame here)
Great video .. Would like to see a video on the most common jeep parts that fail on the trail maybe a spiced together one of trail fixes of the most common. Steering shaft , brake lines , lug nuts , driveshaft or universal joints. Just the most common that you get calls for . Would be great for us to address those concerns on our own Jeeps so we don’t get stranded. Thanks.
Great work. Funny how stuff can be working just fine and then wham! Scrambler makes all the way out there, back to the shop and all the way back out again and bam!! I'm not gonna work anymore. That crap happens to me as well, lol. Rory, your "Dad" humor was on point today 🤣🤣 Keep up the awesome content, much appreciated
Don’t get me wrong ‘trailmater featuring Rory n crew’ is the money maker but the freekin mike and sean show cracks me up every time!! Having a job you can have fun doing is where it’s at💥
How about, "We re-lugged and sent them on their way." -or- "Team Trail Mater, We're 'Luggable'.❤" I enjoyed this one. Once again, Blue-goo to the rescue.Of course having a highly skilled team to make the repair is essential.
Rory just a thought... If you carry a triangular file with you, you can cut a linear slot in a bolt and thread that into the bolt hole & use it as a thread chaser without having to carry a whole set of taps around with you or having to run back to the shop.😊
That can be a great solution - and I suspect Rory had just thought of that when he was lamenting that they didn't have a spare stud to sacrifice in that manner. After all, cutting a gullet in a bolt and using it as a thread chaser like that will severely chowder the bolt's remaining threads, especially if it's trying to cut/chase threads through something hard. That's not mild steel he's trying to tap through. 👍
Nice trail repair on those studs. It's amazing to me that so many people don't check diddly before going on an off road trip. Lugs should be right up there with suspension, oil, coolant, gas and plenty of water and some snacks. Just to name a few😁
Thank You so much for bringing us along on all your recovery and miscellaneous exploits! Always an interesting and fun time. Look forward to your creative vehicle builds when you get all moved into the new shop!
Hey Rory & ""The Shawn & Mike Show "" !!! Great going as I bet those Taps & Chasers will stay on "" Mater"" !!! HAHA 🤔🙄 ""COOL BEANS "" to have the Customer stay away from the machine while you were working on it as DON'T need an injury too boot !! 🙂🙃😉👀👀👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks from England where there really is a place called 'Studley' and I have not long purchased a thread restoring kit (previously I just had a set of thread restoring files).
Y'all just make any job look like it's a walk in the park! The fella was lucky that you could tap out those holes! I thought all lug studs where straight splined / pressed in to the axle flange. Interesting! Great video fellas! Nice safety call ! Don't be under a hanging load.👍
You'd think a company like Yankum-Ropes would gladly provide Rory with all his straps, shackles and whatever, instead they give product to people who might use them once, and never on camera,🤭, or even the Matt-strapes, if I were Matt I'd tell Rory that I'll keep you in free straps, as long as you mention the product when strapping something down, that way everyone wins,😁👍, awesome video guys, and thanks for sharing.
A little “earl” might of helped cut the threads easier, but I digress. Rory’s doing his thing as usual with a steady pull and I’m not provoking the wrath of Rory.
Love u guys so much we watch u all the time u r the best at recovery I'm moab and surrounding areas we live i. Nucla Colorado and we know alot of the roads u take your wrecker on and u guys r always entertaining ❤❤
G'day guys. I have just watched the video. Awesome job on the S10 or it's equivalent in Australia, Rodeo by Holden. Love the sound of the exhaust Great video
Is there any truth in the rumour that Trail Mater does not carry a jack because Rory can pick the wretched vehicles up with his bare hands? You may not use pure engineering techniques, but you certainly get the job done. Well done team.
Thanks for sharing and making quick work of the trail side repair. I could watch trail Maters under carriage flexing all day. You should mount a permanent camera and just upload that suspension working while out there doing your recovers. Love that Old Chevy.
Nice Jeep. Sorry for the hassle, but everything that happens out on the trail is a learning opportunity. At least you had the best Moab recovery team to get you going again. Everyone play safe.
I love seeing the suspension working on trail mater, You did such an awesome job in building it to work in the out back there. good job, always a great video.
Better that he gets hurt rather than the customer. He has other people to fall back on (mike/shawn) if his leg gets broken from the jeep falling, the customer is alone and the one driving home after.
Great video guys, fantastic job getting him back on the trail. U just make it look so easy. I helped change ball joints on a elbcamino so watched half then just finished the rest of it. Great job and vid.
I love my cars and try to avoid having other people work on them, however sometimes you just have to get out of the way, sit back, and let them do their job!
