The Renegade is literally just another Jeepster in a modern, city going form. Still just as capable as a wrangler. A lot of "Jeep Fans' most likely born after 1996 and got their first wrangler from their dad. Had no idea that Jeep used to have even smaller, or at least the same size jeeps doing insane things in the 50s-80s. I have a book here from the 70s that explains how to take apart a real Jeepster and I can definitely see the appeal of the Renegade. Its compact and able to go to some insane lengths. Most jeep fans dont understand that this is literally like a Chevy Tracker or the Suzuki Samurai. Its not meant to be a big trail rider. But its meant to be a little mountain goat that can go through small trails and passes that the big wranglers would have to go around. Trailhawk is good for offroad, but if you are getting any other model (I suggest the sport with a manual and the AC) you could just go crazy with parts and see if you can make a mini mountain goat.
Interesting comment. I was just saying this gives me XJ chills. I grew up with a red Jeep J-series and a grey CJ, the XJ was my purchase in the late 90s. Intending to replace it within 5 years, I’ve kept it 22years and plan to pass it down to the kiddos. This compact Jeep with squarish features reminds me of the impression the XJ and its intended use the compact design was good for - navigating tight spaces in the city or countryside -like a goat 🐐
Lol, we own a 2016 BU TH with 3" lift and 28" tires and that's as big as you can go. And I can tell you with full confidence, it's nowhere near as capable as a Wrangler... We also own a 99 XJ 6.5" lift 35's, front/rear lockers, an 87 XJ 4" lift 33's lunchbox rear, and a 76 CJ-7 on 33's mostly stock other than shackles and tires. The CJ will easily traverse trails that the BU just cannot. Tire size and the engine torque limiting electronics make it impossible to do what even basic Wranglers can.
This car is good for mountain patrolling, and that's why the Italian MP in the Alps uses these as police cars. They handle snow and gravel great and they are also very good on the road. However the Wrangler is literally a tank.
@@preacherjoel1968 You can do a lot with almost any 4x4. A wrangler REALLY only excels when you need extreme clearance, and large tires. Because the wrangler is body on frame, it can achieve those criteria.
A renegade is just a built up fiat that can be in lite snow and lite off roading conditions, a wrangler can climb over land slides and and do a lot more than a fiat, the jeep renegade has a fiat frame.
Oh Please 😝, my wife's 08 V6 RAV4 limited has endured more extremes in Moab Utah the last three times we took it there along with our 06 4Runner. Hell if she can keep up with me and my 06 4Runner in her RAV4 says a lot considering it's also a daily drive vehicle compared to this guys little camera stunts making his little Jeep renegade look more than it really is 🤣.
The Rav4 is a piece of shit. I test drove one and was so unimpressed immediately. After that I wonder how people can drive one and then actually buy it.
