SKIP the gear swap! (unless the gear is trashed)Get a Healtech SPEEDO HEALER! It is an electronic correction box that simply plugs in to the wiring loom between the sensor and the loom. It gets the speed DEAD ON no matter what the tire size or gear tooth count! it is EASILY fine tuned if it doesn't nail it the first time like mine DID! Now if I choose to go from 35 to 37s on my TJ, no biggie, do the calculation on their free app and im done in minutes without getting under the Jeep at all. FYI your information applies to TJs and LJs they all used the same speedo gears and 231 unless it was a Rubicon.
@@FlatTireGarage Yeah the 242 is the full time case where the 231 is a part time. The Speedo healer works on the electronic signal changing it to match the correct speed. Actually has nothing to do with the T-case and would work on a 2WD if it was needed. They make them for all kinds of vehicles including motor cycles which kinda look like what their base was. It made my week when I installed it in my TJ, we are talking with IN one mile an hour of a gps speed app accuracy dead on with those speed signs. I have been telling anyone it can help, hell I was on the phone with metalcloak and told their tech guy who told one of his guys that has/had an issue LOL
