Yep I have heard a lot of bad things about Genright in the past. I wouldn't order a sticker from them ha ha . Sorry this happened to you , I did not know you rolled your Jeep . I'm glad your ok Darren. Take care and catch you on your next video. BTW, I had problems with Metalcloak .
Oh no 😀, what problems have you had with Metal Cloak? It seams it’s a 4x4 aftermarket company thing from my perspective. Yah I’m thankful that Jen or I didn’t get hurt.
@@campbellbuilt Hardware problems with their skid plate . Waited two month for the plate only to get the incorrect hardware and they swore it was correct.
@@moabwheeling1305 I believe this happens more to TJ,LJ and YJ Jeep owners. I was in a manufacturing place and heard that exact statement. He said that a TJ and older Jeep owner will grind and weld to make parts work where as the newer jeep owners will just ship everything back if it doesn’t bolt on.
Not to be that other guy. But I have all the Genright high line fender kits for my TJ as well and inner fenders, battery box, etc. Had nothing but good things from them. Fenders came just fine and looked like yours do. In fact I took a green scrubby and gave them the brushed look and clear coated them, looks great on my black TJ. Sometimes things just happen. This was like 3 yrs ago, before the Biden jab, Fauci Ouchi and mandatory coof goof shots.
I’m okay with the warping around the welds on the front fenders the rear ones are another thing though YIKES. Keith (the salesman) really ticked me off how he talked to me when I called in and I wish I had recorded it. I didn’t say this in the video but the missing tray was the only thing discussed when calling in. On another note clear coating them sounds really cool and I can picture it in my head what your TJ looks like. I could see tinting the clear to almost give it a smoked look but I won’t do that because of stone chip touch up. I would never get it to match😀.
@@campbellbuilt I ended up using the spectre cai. the one with two pipes which one of them goes to the windshield wiper cowl. But i don't use that pipe, just the one pipe to the throttle body. I had to chop the elbow off going to the BBK 62mm throttle body because of my 1" engine lift because the top of the cai hits the hood then i had to buy a large silicon elbow to clamp to the throttle body and slip over the cai pipe. But on cold starts as in every time i start the thing. I really hate the inhaling of air noise this rough aluminum intake pipe makes until the motor idles down after a few minutes. You can hear if from 50' away.
@@campbellbuilt I ended up getting the 6" aluminum fenders. In MN you can only stick out 3" and I have the American Racing AR201 black rims with those Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ P3s 35x12.5x15s. Interesting enough i was tempted to smoke my clear coat like your mentioned but I didn't. I didn't want to pay for powdercoating so i went to the automotive paint store and bought that automotive grade clear coat with a button on the bottom, you push it and it lets the catalist mix with the clear coat so it dries like a real automotive finish about $25/can.
I think my favorite thing i did was install the RockHard 4x4 sport cage, painted it blue and when my tops are off it looks badass as if i am a real off roader. LOL. Is there a spot somewhere on this page that i can get an email. I'd love to show off my Jeep to you. It also has a Built 32RH automatic 3 spd tranny
I’m hoping someone from GenRight comments on this video. They sent me a photo of the parts prior shipping. I received the photo after already uploading the video or I would have included it. The Pallet they shipped it on (came over on the ARK) was already Falling Apart in their shipping department. That explains why when I received it everything was in a ball.
That’s all I was asking for John. Ive almost spent 9k through them and was a little surprised. If he would have said $100 I would have been completely happy. Rolling the Jeep just happened last week so things are still setting in and I got to get to those trail stories I had mentioned to you.
@campbellbuilt looking forward to hear what happened during the roll over, and love ro hear trail stories. It is amazing the Jeep looks as good as it does, and looks like you are ok and safe. That's what matters most.
Ive never been around Motobilt but from the photos I think they might be a little bit better looking than GenRight front fenders. The problem MotoBilt has for now is that they’re a newer company and don’t offer as many products. They will be a direct competitor eventually.
