Jeep TJ steering pump flow restrictor porting for high flow and hydro assist steering

In this video I walk through the process of porting out the flow restrictor on the factory Jeep TJ power steering pump. When adding hydro assist steering and/or a smaller pulley it can help to increase the flow and therefore smoothness/speed of the system.
This is a relatively easy procedure and will require only a 5/8 open end wrench, a 7/8 socket with ratchet, and a drill index and drill (in my case the 5/32 was the bit size required, though this may change per application).
Don't mind the mess of an engine bay, I am currently building fenders and everything that would normally be mounted is everywhere.

the smaller pulley was from trailgear. part number 303411. 6 rib 4.5 inch. the porting has been good, i am still considering opening it up a little further but it has been functional as is since doing it

How did it work?

Overall feeling is much better at low speeds and very little changed at high speeds. I may open it up another 1/32 or even 1/16 due to my smaller pulley. I need to be careful though as I do not want to lose pressure all together.

Ok I just used a 5/32 bit today and it helped ALOT. But thought about going one more size up. But it is working for now until I swap my new motor so I might just leave it for now. Thank you for responding!
