Hell yeah that's awesome man keep the videos coming on the one ton axle swap I'm really wanting to do one after the summer on my YJ what 1-ton axles did you go with if you don't mind me asking
Nice start. Can't wait to watch this series. Is there a reason you have the boomerang shackles on backwards? Just wondering cause the yj I bought had them backwards too
Nice videos on your 1 ton YJ! I have same axles and setup but RE 1.5" springs and trying to lower YJ as its very tall. 6.0L LQ4/TH350/203/205 triple stick 60 soa/14 bolt 4 link. Did the 1" MORE steering box kit work well for ur front stretch & boomerange shackles high and off your front frame? I would like to do that but not wanting to move steering box & keep adding $ to build. I have 5.5" rubicon express TJ rear coils in rear stretch at 103" WB now. Thanks again bro!
Troy Stein yea my steering is great! My steering box is still in the same location with that 1” bracket. I used a short pitman arm, and had my high steer arm drilled to accommodate that. I’m not sure how far I move the axle forward but it’s got to be 4 or 5 inches I bet. My drag link is straight in line with the knuckle and steering box. It all worked out well. And actually turns the 42s just fine. I plan on adding steering assist in the future but I haven’t really needed it honestly. It only binds up when I get really bound up hard. I have no problems with it otherwise for general wheeling it’s great.
@@mrslam49 thank u so much for ur videos & response. Looking to mount my front shackles like yours off rhe front bumoer for a 3.5" wheelbase stretch and 3.5" susp drop with my Chevy 60 & rubicon express 1.5" 6 leaf pack. It's so tall now I can barely get my YJ into the garage. Rear 5.5" Rubicon Express TJ coils 4 link. 😆
@@mrslam49 where did u buy short pitman arm from? I have a flat waggy stock 1. I'm debating whether to raise shackles straight up into tubular front crossmember or mount to a front bumper and/or frame with boomerang shackles like you. If I do lioe yours will need to buy MORE 1" forwaed move kit & modified pitman arm and prob have to lengthen my steering shaft and driveshaft so more work but get 3.5" wheelbase stretch to 106.5"
Ryan Nickell on the front end I did move the driver side perch. I cut the old one off and clocked the new one to match the wedged shims that I used on the driver side for caster angle.
Ryan Nickell yea the leaf spring front was a pretty good match for the yj. I will probably change it to a 3 link in the future but this was cheap and got me on the road for the time being. I can save up and dump some more money into the front end later.
Cory Robinson I moved the steering box forward 1 inch with an off the shelf bracket. It works great. My tie rod is behind the knuckle tho, so that gave me a little more space up front.
