For anyone interested in this kit, I have a 17JK 2 door Willy’s wheeler. I’m running this exact kit with stock shocks and stock wheels(rubicon style). I’m on 35’ BFG Km3s and I do have a wheel spacer to make up for the stock wheels. It clears everything without any rubbing. I did opt to trim my rock rails for safety but it did technically clear without trimming. I ordered alllll those goodies from extreme terrain and it showed up super fast. The Jeep rides and handles so incredibly well with this kit I was shocked. It feels somehow sportier and yet still flexes well off road. For the money I’ve put into the setup I could not be more pleased with the results. I only wish this video would have been around back when I did my install 😂
Thanks for the review of the kit and our services! Sorry we didn't get this video out sooner to help you out! And as for the ride, its crazy what a set of meaty tires and heavier weighted springs will do to your Jeep when lifted the right way. 😁 -Zach
For bump stops, I put them in boiling water for 5 minutes, then dipped the top in dishwashing soap, and they went right in, no problem. Then put a 4x4 on the bottom, and jacked up the axle, or drop it (if jacked by the frame), to push he bump stop in. Palmolive green dishwashing soap works the best.
Put in this lift. I simply followed the directions for the bump stop extensions. Put them in place and jack the axle up to put the weight of the Jeep on them to press them in place. I did not remove the track bar bolt. Used a bottle jack to push the axle down enough to get the spring out, new spring in. I did find far less than 2.5" of lift. Currently no fron
Very helpful pulled it off in 6 hours by myself I'll add that to and 1/2 hours were fighting exhaust bolts to add the exhaust spacers I had to extract two of them after they snapped off
I have a 2010 Rubicon JK, but already have Metalcloak adjustable Track bars on Front and rear, and Moog tie rod and drag links. I Would love to put a 2.5” lift on it. Do you need new control arms, or stock are good enough ? Not sure what other components I need, I have Rough Country shocks (will upgrade to RockSport), but what else would I need other than the new springs, longer brake lines, sway bar links and bump stops, as I already have both track bars replaced with Metalcloak, and a RockSport (via Metalcloak) steering stabilizer. I believe my shocks are for 0-2.5” lift, but will replace them.
2.5 in lift is only thing needed to run 35s? No rubbing or other mods? I have the 2.5 rough country lift without shocks and I was told 35s would rub. Looking at some Firestone destination a/t or something similar.
Without the factory air-dam or with an aftermarket front bumper installed, 35s can fit with 2.5 in. of lift no problem! Stock wheels may need a spacer, but an aftermarket wheel with a little bit of extra backspacing you will have no issues. The only other mods I would look into with a kit like this would be an adjustable front track bar, shocks (if your kit does not include them), and a beefier steering stabilizer to help out with the 35s. Hope this helps! -Zach
Can this lift be run with the stock factory shocks? It appears that you’re simply adding the lift with no shock spacers, or is adding shock spacers a necessary option if you want to keep your stock shocks?
It *can* be put on with the factory shocks, especially if you have a Willys edition or a Rubicon with longer shocks. But I highly recommend you get a new set of shocks that are the proper length for your lift kit when installing. Your shocks will last longer, perform better off-road and ride smoother on-road that way. -Zach
