Consolidation is the first step in the modernization of the Public Utility Vehicles in the Philippines. Traditional Jeepneys who have become part of a COOP will be able to continue operation at least through December 2024.
The next step will upgrading to modern vehicles. This is a costly process and it appears that the small independent operators will soon become a thing of the past.
