The sound guy didn't do them any favors using the same sound effect for blocks and strikes. It made the action a little hard to follow. Still, I respect what they were doing with this scene. Good stuff.
If you think about fighting with a short sword, it seems like a very efficient fighting method. If you think these two are holding swords in their hands and look at them again, they still look pretty good.
@@jayh7061why don't you check out Ishii Togo. A real martial artist who has studied under Hiro Watanabe and Ted Wong's JeetKun Do, an art of intercepting fist from Bruce Lee. A shovel hook, overhead punch, one inch punch, steal step, throat pinch kick. All these techniques came from Bruce Lee. Lee never showed this in his movie. But on the street fight, he would use all that
Well said. Its what he calls " Real Fight" , where they have an almost " sparring freestyle aproach. He said the JKD dude, " ached him up" a bit because of the realistic fight nature of the choreography. Good film.
Many SEA martial arts focus on weapons much more than hand-to-hand. It's all about speed and killing, not self defense. They depend on the weapon to kill so they don't develop powerful blows or many sneaky techniques. So that's why the guy lost, because he's using a weapon-based martial art without a weapon. Whereas JKD not only specializes in hand-to-hand but also incorporates weapon techniques into hand-to-hand. And it emphasizes trickery as well.
I love the fact, that Takaguchi is complaining about "unrealistic fight choreography" in movies, earlier in this movie and then comes up with this nonsense . 😂
@@Spychopunk2077and? This is a movie. Actually no. A bare hand will be harder to knock someone out. Wearing gloves will be easier to knock someone out
@@user-ch7ky6co3creally? I used to think bonxing gloves are made to protect the fighter hand because if they punch too hard they may damaged their own hand
@@SmileBe4Death yah probably because the film director didn't even want a realistic fight scene. So what are you trying to prove if you are not trolling?
I don't get the hype. I see going for the eyes, otherwise the strikes seem to lack power and the kicks looked silly. I'd guess any guy with mma experience would tough through to grapple and/or get solid hits in. It breaks immersion for me. Almost worse than a wokified Hollywood action with a girl boss kicking ass.
A real fight between an mma fighter and a martial arts practitioner under no rule will end in 20 seconds, where the mma fighter gets his eyes poked out by the martial artist. In a real fight there is no such thing as a fight on the ground like amateurs. That is why no martial arts has any meaningful focus on ground duels. Have you ever grabbed someone’s finger by accident during a rough and tumble? It’s very easy to hurt and get hurt without any rules. MMA rules is child’s play compared to how scary humans can be to each other. Of course someone that can rely on a gun (maybe that might be your situation who knows) won’t have to care as much, but looking at the other trailers…you best not miss👋
