...as performed last night the 27th of October 2010... beautiful stuff... thanks for watching! ..and thanks Jeff!... for yet another fantastic night to remember!
I was at this concert, front row center with my brother who helped me through chemo last year. It was my "thank you" present to him and we both flew from Canada to be there. This piece moved us both to another place; thank you so much for recording and posting!
The only guitarist in the world who cannot only mimic the human voice but he can mimic the violin are you kidding me what a master. This song is so beautiful and beautifully played.
How on Earth can the Irish create such happiness through the reels and jigs at celidhs the same time create such heart rending melancholy in their laments. Oh how I love Ireland and the Irish. Dia dhaoibh Éire.
I saw and met Jeff Beck in Westport Ct USA at the local high school (Staples) when I was dragged to a concert to hear The Yardbirds.I went in dedicated to folk only and came out a changed man(boy). We packed their amps, etc and Jimmy Page was also there. We talked with the band for about 20 minutes .I had no idea who I was talking to.This was summer of 1966 and I was 14
I was there not fifty feet away from Sharon and it was a spellbinding moment and a great concert by the genius who could make a guitar sing like anything he wanted included Pavarotti
My dear brother Fraser and I had always wanted to see Jeff Beck live and we eventually got to see him on this night at the Albert Hall. A fantastic night of music from the greatest guitarist ever. So glad we got to see him before my brother passed away in the summer of this year. This brings a tear to my eye now to think we both were there listening to it.....
Respect to Jeff Beck. I was expecting him to monopolise the song to show off his talents as most 'guitar heros' would have done but no, he managed to fit his playing into the song. A beautiful performance by all!
So often the attention is on Lead Singer and whistle player Andrea Corr although her three siblings, Caroline on drums, Sharon on fiddle and Michael on guitars are equally as immensely talented.
*Changed the way we listen . . .* No way 2 say more 1/10/23 (81yrs) Light the cosmic firmament Playin’ 4 eternity in the celestial band . . . Jeff Beck
Quite simply the most beautiful thing i've ever heard. The most beautiful melody ever. I love it when Jeff starts his bit. Banging his head as if to say" how can i follow that?"..... and then he follow's it.
...sorry you lost your brother,i know how you feel,i lost two in two years... time marches on,remember the good times and cry when ever you feel like it!
Beautiful ❗Jeff Beck can play with anyone and make it work 🎸🎶🎵 I don't think Leo had any idea how the Fender would do when he designed it. Jeff Beck knew when he played the Fender - it was a match made in heaven
Amazing, it is truly astonishing that Jeff just gets better and better. It NEVER is this way with any artist. It's inspiring and shows that as long as you are passionate about what you do you can grow.
@omegalast800 And you as well! Please know that the concert marks the 1st anniversary of finishing my program of chemotherapy treatment. So it was not only a thank you gift to my loving brother, but also a celebration of LIFE! I'm so glad you were there! The very best to you always.
I need to get my Gaelic on. Jeff can and does play along with all of them. Sharon plays this so sweetly. Does eleventy count? Beautiful stuff. Class all the way through. yep. That is fine music.
@basilvictorhomer ..thanks for your kind comment!.. I recently switched from a Bill Gates to a Mac and Final Cut software and have posted recent vid`s in 16.9 just for a change so to speak... i use a TZ7 which, all things considered, is a crackin peice of titchy kit! ;-)
NOTE for fans: When Syd Barret mad, Roger Waters wanted to hire Jeff Beck to be the guitarist of Pink Floyd, but they thought that they could not afford it. Then invited David Gilmour. Believe it or not.
@omegalast800 it means if your video aspect ratio is 4:3 (height 4, width 3) and you want to resize, you must preserve 4:3. so the people wont look squashed when u put it in a wide-screen canvas in FCP. you if want to capture widescreen you should set your camera into taking 16:9 pictures, so it is the same ratio when u put it in FCP. hope that helps:)
I've posted my own clip of this same performance but am delighted to acknowledge that yours is comfortably superior both in sound and picture quality (despite the latter being slightly distorted - did you have to convert from a different ratio by any chance?). Thanks for posting - much appreciated. PS: May I ask which cam you used? Been trying to find a high quality cam for gigs for some time.
@omegalast800 Thanks for the info. Amazed such a small cam can deliver videos like that. I too have switched to a Mac but am unimpressed with iMovie so will very likely cough up for Final Cut now.
What have you used to record. What is the brand that ypu are using I have a 4 year old JVC and I are going to buy a new. But I cant deside what to buy and yuor recording look nice
@omegalast800 hi you should preserve actual pixel ratio more than anything else. dint matter you using mac or pc. but anyway thanks for the video. its a killer performance.
@Drummer1Bodhran1 Yes, Iif they consider to reform again, then a relly think that they sculd make a DVD whit Beck as a geust stair. This schuld bee in the set list
